    Thanks Randy, I bought this one because I wanted to replace my old NKJV thinline with a text only KJV that has the same footprint , and it does! I LOVE the black Genuine leather, with the Red page edges . The print size is also the same as my old one but darker in both the black and the red . And your review confirms that I made great choice !

    This is such a beautiful Bible. It reminds me of dad's old World Press KJV. I picked it up on Amazon for $30 brand new. Thomas Nelson does it again and thier ribbons are one the best.

    I like this one as well. I bought it because of the red pages and the fact that it was genuine leather. When it arrived I didn't expect the cover to be as floppy and soft as it turned out to be. It's not stiff at all. It lays and stays open perfectly. It feels good. The paper is good. The print is good. Like you said, there's very little to complain about. And I think they have hit on something here: I think there's a market for releasing Bibles like this in a vintage vibe. If they made a Bible like this in a more traditional size that wasn't a thinline but retained the gothic font on the cover and the red page edges, I don't think I would need another KJV personally.
    But this is nearly perfect as it is. I think it'll be popular.

    Looks vintage for me and I love the style. It seems very nostalgic.

    I love that it is large print yet it is thin line. Thanks for this review.

    I just got a copy of this Bible and they list the font size on the box as 10 instead of 11.5. It’s still readable for me.

      Yes. Thankfully, they've adjusted how they measure and they're now more accurate.

      Thanks! I'll need to get them from the church and compare them. Going by memory, the quality is about the same.

      @@BibleBuyingGuide Oh thank you Randy! Oh and also, do you prefer the paper on this KJV thinline to the paper on the NASB 2020 Leathertex ultrathin? Thank you again 😊

    Very nice! How do you think the paper compares to that of the Maclaren series. Would you say the Maclaren is noticeably thicker with less show through. Really like the margins in this one!

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Maclaren is noticeably thicker paper with much less show-through. It has 36gsm vs this one's 30gsm.

    Why are some Bibles considered large print when they don't seem to be at all, at least to me anyway

    • @caomhan84
      @caomhan84 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I would consider this large print. The font is definitely larger than the 9.5 font in my sovereign collection. It's very easy to read in my opinion. I think I disagree with Randy that it reads like a 10.5..... I think 11.5 is fair. It just seems smaller because of the line spacing. But it's not as cramped as a CSB large print. It's easier to read in my opinion than one of those. But it's certainly not giant print, if that's what you're looking for.

      Hi. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you on this. They're very similar. The footprint is about the same. The paper in the TN might be a touch thicker, but it's hard to say for sure. The TN font is slightly larger and darker. The Tyndale leather is slightly thicker. I prefer the look and feel of the TN. I think the Tyndale is better for all-around use, though, because of the references and footnotes.

    It seems like a very nice Bible. Lots to like about it, but what is with all these large print Bibles? I guess I'm the only one that likes an 8.5 or 9 point font. I ordered a TN Bible not long ago and it was large print, but many reviewers said it wasn't very large. I couldn't believe how big the font was (it too stated 11.5), but that is simply too large. The font might as well be comic sans, it looks ridiculous that big to me. Really wish they would release the same Bible, but in smaller print. I ended up returning the Bible.

    Do you think Bibles being made in China helps witness to the people of China who would otherwise never see a Bible?

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question! It's really hard to know for sure, but it's hard to imagine that not one person that can read English gets to see at least one page. I just pray that they do.

      @@BMB125 Too small a font for my liking. Imagine that with a 14 point font(or bigger), with a thicker paper so there was no see-through whatesover. What a fabulous preaching Bible that would be. Then we are talking about easy reading. That is what a preaching Bible should look like imo.
