My brother Edmund Ryan Cowboy is a straight “lifers” always had jobs lined up. From pipe fitting to building homes and doing road construction, he was a badass dude. Every time I hear Cody Jinks I think of him, he brought you “Mr. Jinks” into all of our lives, he loved music, especially older country but always jammed Jinks and he’s seen you live twice, once in Vegas and then Tucson, Arizona. He’s is exactly this type of music, tough, rough and rugged but most of all loving and extremely funny. Unfortunately we lost him 7/1/2022, he passed doing what he loved, working and providing for his family. He left behind a wife and 6 beautiful children and 2 brothers as well as his parents. Plus a whole lot of family and friends and all his nieces and nephews. He well surely be missed and I’m thankful for his time with me, I’m his younger brother. He was 34 at the time of his passing and I’m 3 years younger than him, I grew up with him. He was my best friend, always going to miss riding quads, camping, watching football, going to the lake and joking around with him. He’s gone but never forgotten. Now when I hear Cody Jinks I hear him, I love you brother Edmund . Thank you for everything. Can’t wait to see you live Mr. Jinks this year on October 1st 2022 in Morrison Colorado 💙🧡☝🏽
Your brother will always be with you Eric ❤🙏 an this song definitely describes Edmund to the core! He's loved and miss and Cody jinks will always remind us of him 🧡💙
I'm seriously glad to have grown up when I did. I grew up using the term lifer's. Sadly, not everyone would get it. Nearly 35 years later, our guy Jinx, has explained it perfectly through his music. Here is to all the lifer's before us and to all those that are still taking care of business and getting shit done today. God Bless. Oh and 🍻
@@keenankelley187 wasn't saying anything like that he just puts me in mind of Merle Haggard with his songwriting and how you can tell he really cares for the working Man I am a career firefighter and he has so many songs that has touched me. It was a compliment not a compare mint. He has his own style
I've always worked two jobs since I was fifteen, often getting up early and not getting home until late at night. It is starting to wear me out. Through hard work and a goal, I was able to purchase my own home this year and move my little family into it. Glad to see that kind of life being recognized and celebrated. There are many of us.
So here's to the lifers The struggle-and-strifers Workin' long after the day is done Here's to the broke-backs The cowboys in old hats The last of the Great Generation It seems they still dream #lifers #codyjinks #blacksheep
Three different videos to the same song, showcasing his fans. This guy is a genius (and a heckuva musician). I smiled all the way through this song 3 times. BZ!
Can't thank Cody and his team enough for featuring my dad in Part 1 and shining a light on these hardworking men and women we all love! They are the backbone of this country and I am proud of each and every one of them for who they are, what they contribute, where they been and what they keep doing.
This song has defiantly motivated me to be my very best, as a young 15 year old working on a ranch to working a restaurant and now finally in college and about to begin nursing school I have had many nights of doubt on myself, and this song has definitely helped me push through it all.
This is an amazing video and song. I can't wait for the next 2 videos. Thank you so much Cody for the wonderful songs you write and sing. You are such an inspiration :)
My brother is an integration tech in a cg plant, I thank him and you all for keeping our lights on. Cody Jinks is on the "plant playlist" way up here in the Pacific Northwest too! As a former Paratrooper, you linemen have huge balls to do what you do- much respect!
@@mikemarin2016 Thanks Michael for your support! I wish I was still there brother. I would be at any Cody Jinks show within 500 miles of me! Whitey Morgan played in Bellingham, WA a couple of years ago and it was incredible. Bellingham is uber liberal so it was a shock to see him play in a city full of hipsters. Anyways, stay safe out there! Where are you at up here anyways?

Lyrics
He wakes with the chickens and the Waco sun
He’s got mouths to feed and cattle to run
Same as his daddy and his daddy done
It’s all he’s ever known
In this modern world movin’ break-neck fast
He’s a dyin’ breed, a thing of the past
He’ll be damned if he don’t hit back
If you stand in his way
When there’s nothin’ more to say
So here’s to the lifers
The struggle-and-strifers
Workin’ long after the day is done
Here’s to the throw-backs
The cowboys in old hats
The last of the great generation
It seems they still dream
She’s a renaissance girl with a fire in her soul
She’s got a pocket full of nothin’, nobody tells her no
She flew into town twenty years ago
With a guitar and a song
She’s been playin’ them rooms but she ain’t got far
Been livin’ off tips in them Broadway bars
She’s a troubadour queen but time left its mark
The scene’s passed her by
In a world that’s passed her by
So here’s to the lifers
The struggle-and-strifers
Workin’ long after the day is done
Here’s to the throw-backs
The cowboys in old hats
The last of the great generation
It seems they still dream
No they don’t give up and they don’t give in
When things don’t go their way
Yeah we’re getting’ knocked down
Yeah we’re getting’ back up
Live to die another day
So here’s to the lifers
The struggle-and-strifers
Workin’ long after the day is done
Here’s to the throw-backs
The cowboys in old hats
The last of the great generation
It seems they still dream
Amazing presentation of true Lifers from each end and between spectrum of true grit and workmanship!
