    I'm sad Grub had to watch this, peak toxicity in a match where only toxic player is the guilty.
    That aside, nice commentary, these vods help me a lot, I've been plat for several seasons and now I'm trying to make a push to diamond, and Grubby's bootcamp is helping me a lot on game analysis

      The toxic player is *always* the bad one. By default.
      I have yet to play a game where the toxic player is actually right, has a good point, exhibits proper skills and just unloads onto a bad player. It sounds like a standard scenario, like the veteran demolishing the newbie, but that never happens. Not once. It doesn't. Ever.
      The person who talks shit is *always the worst* to second-worst of the group. D.Va here had the Diablo shield of death to shed off responsibility, so it can be argued that D.Va might not be the worst because Diablo is, but D.Va is nowhere near even average. The D.Va player here is absolute garbage. And that's consistent in all the games I've played and seen. The person who talks shit is always the garbage player.
      On the other hand, if you watch Grubby or Fan or any other pro gamer play, they are zen incarnate. The way Grubby handles this stream is inhuman. He's like a god, a Mister Manhattan, detached from the salt. I am boiling inside at the intentional throw by the D.Va player and I was actually rooting for Blue.
      It's 100% rate for me so far. Low sample size but absolute consistency. If someone starts typing shit, I will bet money on that person being the main reason for an incoming defeat, every time, without knowing more. The second someone starts talking nonsense for the sake of insult, that's a series of intentional throws about to happen.
      The toxic player is always the bad one. And I know there are a bunch of people queuing up to say they're really toxic but also really good. Going "stop feeding the Butcher" is not toxic, it's just weak advice. And if you're actually toxic to a fault, I guarantee that you're not good. I guarantee it.

    At around 15 mins, fan just went over rhis too.
    Making decisions is what wins games.
    Just because obj is up make right decisions. “If my team needs help i’ll clean far lane then mid lane this way my lanes push forward and they lose soak, then i’ll join once we get a few kills or lose a few i’ll go hit the lanes again and come back for reset.... this way We’re always gaining advantage.”

    My favorite game I ever played was one with a teammate like this dVa. He threw a fit and went afk, we won the game 4v5 and I taunted him the whole time.
    However, he was not humbled. He didn't learn, and will undoubtedly re-offend. This was a 1-in-a-million chance that I will never see again.
    Remember that each of these players likely has some other problem affecting them that no amount of cheerleading and/or forced lessons will overcome. They only have power over you if you listen and let them. Just mute. Do what you can. You're not responsible for other people making thenselves miserable, but you can stop them from making you miserable.

  • @razzyrazberries

    DVA at the end, lol: "not bad for a 4v5"
    Yeah, the rest of the team did pretty well since you were afk typing and complaining the whole game. :'D
    Never be that toxic person. It doesn't help anyone. If you meet someone like that mute and then report after the game. Hopefully they'll learn their lesson, but most of them won't.

    • @LootFragg

      @@DunkelheitVZ Mute exactly the worst player who insults you. Nobody else. Just that one. Immediately, without response. There is never a point in keeping that channel open. Nova waveclear at 20 is 12/10 with snipe build and double precision. She can keep up top 3 lanes clear from anywhere while earning XP and bribe stacks. A stacked Q can basically clear an entire wave.

    • @tni333
      @tni333 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Forgotten Autos too bad waveclear isn’t very important at 20 and using your ult to clear lanes instead of killing enemies makes her a much worse teamfighter.

    • @forgottenautos8461
      @forgottenautos8461 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tni333 u rite. Clearing mercs and saving keeps isn't important at all during end game. And what Nova needs to bribe tons of camps anyways since lane pushing isn't important as you so astutely pointed out. Also, holding onto to 2 charges of an Ult that comes off cd super quickly when you're not team fighting is optimizing that micro strat.

    • @chartabona
      @chartabona 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's like saying Medivh is 12/10 Wave clear because his Q 1-shots the wave and he can teleport/fly from lane to lane.

    • @forgottenautos8461
      @forgottenautos8461 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chartabona LOL no, that's not saying the same thing. For one, Medivh has to actually be in the lane to clear waves and earn XP. Nova can clear a wave anywhere on the map, earn the XP, and earn bribe stacks. She can do this twice. She can also snipe a wave she is next to, which allows her to do 3x as much as Medivh can do without being far from the team. So yes, Medivh can clean a single wave quickly, Nova has many more benefits to her kit on a global scale that Medivh simple doesn't have. Three times the wave clear, XP gathering, camp bribing, and she can stay near the team (so she is safe and useful).

      @@LootFragg yeah, most low rank people blame the team on the losses when you can literally carry 1v9 below gold in 90% of the games.. If you are better than them, that is. I doubt anyone stuck on bronze or silver has a rightful claim that he does not belong there.. Even diamond and master games are horrible since 2018. • @LootFragg
      @LootFragg 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is absolutely true and I can only recommend immediately muting unconstructive players and reporting toxic ones. Like instantly, as soon as someone goes: "gostgaming wtf no healing noob [ping]", you just immediately mute with an abusive text chat report and move on. Treat the rest of the game as if nobody ever said anything.
      I'm just saying that because you said you got flamed an entire game, whereas I in your position wouldn't have known. I would have only seen the first sentence and then that player being afk from time to time. Mute people. Deliberately, often, directly, without hesitation. There is no harm in it. There is never a case where I accidentally call you an idiot only to apologize right afterwards and start talking deep strategy. Instant mute because all that ever comes out of a toxic player's mouth (or hands) is more toxic stuff. There is never good advice in there. And you don't want to distract yourself with things that aren't game-related.

    Hi Grubby do you have an advice for someone who get tilted very easly in situations like this:
    lvl 15v16, I just pinged to take camp and type "skip obj, soak 16" 3 people responded well then a Cassia goes 1v5 on obj and die.
    She ended game with 9 deaths. I tilted after this 1v5 and start toxic typing like "Dont be a moron, stop suiciding" I know this doesnt help but its so frustrating when people do such mistakes. Disabling chat helps with that but then I cant give good calls. Most of times I know better what to do cos I like the strategic aspect of the games (was a WoT shotcaller) so I would like to have that option to at least say "soak xp plz, dont fight".

    • @Haren94
      @Haren94 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A good advice is NEVER curse in chat. Use no foul language, ever. It makes the other more toxic and it tilts you more as well (just like you automatically feel better when smiling). Try to alter your approach. Know that there are players out there doing stupid stuff. If you see one like it, try typing (politely!!) and asking them to not make such mistakes. Be specific. Type preferably while travelling across the map so that it doesn't interfere with other actions too much.

    • @LootFragg
      @LootFragg 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Another piece of advice would be to give objectives instead of denying them. Say what you want, not what you don't want. You did this in general, but if you notice a bad or griefing player, try giving them an assignment. Don't get stuck on the lost objective. Think ahead and consider what's next -- they will push and take keep, likely. Cassia will spawn once they're through the wall. What can Cassia do then that is most helpful, considering it's not the brightest mind we're dealing with?
      It is not your responsibility to babysit but it CAN help. "Cassia, once you revive, can you stick to me (Diablo)? I need a damage dealer." It sounds like hand-holding, I know. It should have been obvious from the start. Nobody in their right mind would not understand it. But here we have this exceptional situation of an overly tired, maybe stressed out middle-aged housewife on meds playing like shit on crappy wi-fi and you can either start a fight with her over the internet, or you can try to direct her. She obviously can't figure it out on her own.
      ESPECIALLY when dealing with potentially new players Bronze to Gold, you won't believe how useful direct advice can be. Instead of saying "don't die", say "stay behind me and wait for my signal". Instead of saying "be useful", say "can you help Li Li do the hard camp?" When I was new, nobody gave a fuuuck about helping me out, even when I asked. I got used to not giving advice, assuming everybody already knew their shit. Eventually, I accidentally asked people to do stuff and some of them willingly and thankfully followed and I realized, shit, some of these players are me. I used to be in their shoes. Being placed in Silver but damn, what do I do now?
      That Cassia ignored your calls. But that actually happened to me as well. Sometimes I don't realize someone typing in chat. And because of the sheer amount of random ping noise, I got conditioned to rarely follow pings. And imagine a new player reading "soak xp, dont fight". They literally don't understand what you mean. Again, not your fault, but it's a bit to consider. General game-state info is great for advanced players. "20" makes me look at the XP bar and realize we're close to 20 and should soak. But for a beginner or casual player, it doesn't mean anything. "Come here and help me with giants" makes sense though. "Stay behind gate, don't get baited". "Go back behind fort, let me pull Punisher" is better than "dont suicide into immo wtf", even though both mean the same thing.
      So give jobs. Doesn't work for everyone and you'll sometimes get pushback from some jerk who hates being told what to do and has already smoked a cigarette which makes him cool, so don't tell him what to do, MOM. But there is a significant amount of players who respond well to being bossed around with direct orders that have a neutral or friendly tone. This is in line with "real-life" in that people respond better to "DO THIS" than to "DON'T DO THAT". Can't have laws but not the structure in place to abide them.
      In the game, every player thinks they're doing the best possible thing. Cassia thinks she's ... stalling. Or... whatever. Cassia believes in herself. Telling Cassia to not do that one thing means Cassia can't do anything else. What is Cassia supposed to do, go afk at spawn? That would be dumb. So your advice is bad to Cassia. Cassia knows that trying to win Obj 1v5 is better than going afk forever, so you don't know nuffin, Jon Snow.
      Give that player an alternative, a really definitive alternate path. "Cassia, go mid, please, we need you." Now Cassia has to decide between valiantly fighting an army at the choke or doing whatever it is you told Cassia to do. It sounds so dull because Cassia had that option before you said anything. But Cassia seemingly did not consider it, so spell it out for her and don't be ashamed to repeat the basics.
      It is often very helpful to really just drop all of your Fan-Grubby-NotParadox advanced knowledge and imagine you're playing with random adult husbands after a work shift. They know that Cassia throws spears and they might know you need to move to keep armor. But do they know about double soaking, freezing waves, stalling vs committing, lane pressure, team composition shenanigans and whatnot? They know the tutorial which tells them: "Ignore soak [it really does, it ... it actually tells them to ignore the minions and focus on killing] and like, run straight to the arrow we draw here". And that's exactly what they'll do. But then you come in and say: "I have this nifty idea that just might work, who's with me?" And it looks SO much better than a "fucking stop feeding", even if the latter is absolutely correct.

      I absolutely feel you. What's hard to see is the 3 quiet people in the background. You can either shield them, join them, stand up for them, support them, because you want your players to be like them, or you can engage the 1 asshole because you don't care for the 3 others and really, you love beefing with idiots more than playing with non-idiots. That's really the situation and it helps to visualize that before any game.
      I am playing a game with a bunch of good people and a bunch of bad people. Which side do I want to support? Do I want to beef with the bad people and cause trouble for the good people? Or do I want to play with the good people and ignore the bad people? You can only ever do one, so that's what you decide, before any game, during any game, in every situation where someone pisses you off. That guy over yonder needs an ass-kicking. Do I want to abandon my post and roll in the dirt with that cunt, thereby making everything worse for the other guys? Or do I want to stay with the other guys and just... give up the mud play this time?
      Always easier said than done, I know. I can't consistently do it. But that's the gist. It's not about you and that asshat over there. It's about you and the friendlies you're involving. I mean, you know it, in a way, judging by your self-aware post, but I don't know if you truly think of those other peeps trying their best to play a normal game. People like you, trying to have a good game for once. It seems to help me sometimes, to assume everyone to be good, until someone talks shit, I mute them and consider the other people good (until they start talking shit). And if I have anyone there to fight for, such as the random amount of good people, I'll stick around and try my best and ignore the idiot, even if I'm raging inside.

    At the start of the game Diablo charged garrosh only d'va tried to help. Then d'va worked Jaina down to almost nothing. Jaina gets to her fort but a hell dunk would have killed her.

      That's what I'm talking about. Everyone made up there minds at draft.

  • @Dano.G

    The thing is. Your are a GM player. That DVa CANNOT understand, in the moment, what is good or bad, value wise.
    Most players know only 1 way to play. Making every game is played in that same "bubble". Usually something like. Fight mid, fight obj, get kills = win the game. Essentially, relying on a late game team fight + obj to win. Not realizing that every team comp has win conditions. Too bad he only realized this as the game was over when he says " if azmo gets 400 we win".
    Had he realized this at the start of the game, he would have respected the azmo playstyle and adapted his game to facilitate that. But, because Blizzard sucks at teaching strategy and modern schools and society sucks at teaching critical thinking, we end up with some very ignorant people, incapable of seeing "the big picture". Leading them to misinterpret the actions and results they observe.
    This is true in Hots and real life. To be wise is to understand this and then re-adapt your approach to take into account human limitations.
    This is the part that sucks and why I only play ranked with a 5stacks: In lower than diamond ranks, you need to adapt to the worst/dumbest player's intellectual, strategical and mechanical limitations to get the actual real win% of your "accurate" analysis of the situation and best actions.
    Great vids 👍

    The D.Va player is so toxic. -_-

  • @shadowreaverrising1753

    So what I'm seeing is; d.va thinks they are the leader but has killed any chance of that. D is diving Squishies with no back up. Diablo is too. The game would have been better if D,VA and Diablo were on the same page.
    Funny how Grubby is hating on D'va and he already said he hates the toon. Xul didn't like D'va either. "We lost this game in draft. From the first minute."
    Azmodan not dunking Jaina for the kill started it all.

      so what you're saying is you're the toxic D.va player? because defending toxicity like that when they weren't gonna get the kill is exactly why D.va was hated on. Do you not understand cooldowns because azmo's Q is a pretty big cooldown which if you actually paid attention to the video where grubby literally went back and slowed it down you can see that azmo literally used the Q and landed it during that time

      @@Gu3ssWhatsN3XT I am saying what I typed. Xul was toxic too but the difference is most of the time d'va was right. The reason everyone dislikes this d'va so much is because Grubby doesn't like D'va in hots. So you don't like D'va.
      Grubby actually missed a lot on this vid. 10:15 when he is not sure if d'va or Jaina are calling for help. Start of the game.

      @@shadowreaverrising1753 I think it's a great idea to chase Jaina into her fort behind her team at the start of the game after a botched engage into a heavy teamfighting composition with a macro composition and then complain about not getting magical support by [insert someone].
      Disclaimer: I don't actually think it's a great idea to chase Jaina into her fort behind her team at the start of the game after a botched engage into a heavy teamfighting composition with a macro composition and then complain about not getting magical support by [John Lennon].
      You were not on voice comms, Jenny. You didn't make your intent to crazy-dive Jaina clear at the start. You didn't ensure your team wouldn't get torn to shreds by theirs before attempting your tower dive. What are you complaining about again? Next time, explain your very unconventional idea beforehand. Then you can get mad at your team for not following your plan.

      @@LootFragg that's just one instance. Keep in mind one skill shot would have killed her maybe even an AA. This happens several times in the game. Nobody is looking at D. Nobody cares. D'va has to make them care.
      Ultimately the killing jaina and getting killed at the start didn't matter.
      Nobody has to chase her to the fort. That, judging by the ping was not remotely the idea.

      "I am saying what I typed." But every post is edited?
      D.va chasing kills and after fail he blames anyone but himself. Focus helping and working with your team, dont go Aram all the time. Azmo maybe could have gotten some extra kills but they would still lose. Becasue of toxic and aram mentality from D.va. If Diablo and D.va focus tanking for the team instead it would be much better game.
      Nobody is looking at D.va because hes doing his own thing and expecting everyone else to follow. How about you focus on what your team needs, rather than how "amazing" you are at making plays and killing.
