Next time you can’t use your drywall lifter. Make a T with 2x4’s for Ashley to hold her end up.
It would have cracked the tile seeing they shouldn't have even been walking on it yet. Good helping hand otherwise.

I can really relate to the "Lucy" moments as I call them (as in Lucille Ball) where tiredness kicks in and giggles do too. You pulled through just fine with few "oops". Great save on the drywall, Ashley, Doug owes you big time.

Being without a bathroom for as long as you have, with 2 children, would be nightmarish for most. I admire your fortitude and grace under such stress. Most couples your age head to divorce court for less. Your friendship and love for each other is a blessing to watch ☮️💜😺

YAY! The toilet made it's debut! Don't get me wrong. The running water was a thrill, I have no doubt, but I cheered when I saw the Thrown! LOL! Everyone will be sitting pretty now!

I am a carpenter. Some of the ways you do things drive me nuts! But I will say that I would hire you on my crew! You and your wife are hard workers and you make it happen!! "I think you should protect your ear sight". Don't fret Ashley, you are among friends. My daughter once said dust mower in place of vacuum and my husband often has to translate my " You know, the thing that......" usually accompanied by hand gestures and facial tics LOL.

Ooh, I know too well the problems of "being willing to help but too short to help like he needs me to" -itis. (Think about making a deadman's lift for helping with the other ceiling installs). I love all the honest banter, its nice to see you both laugh and smile.
I found myself laughing when Ashley was holding up the drywall because I've been there. She's a real trooper, you both have much to be proud. It looks amazing, I know we all are rooting you on.

It was funny to see Ashley resting the drywall on her head when her arms got too tired from holding it up. Congrats on getting it screwed into place without incident. Also funny to hear Doug tell Ashley to "push". I'm sure she heard him say that before in a much different setting.

Holding your head up when you drywall ceilings exhausts me in a very short time. Men have more neck and shoulder muscles, so we women will naturally tire out more quickly while working in this position. My hat's off to you both for a job well done.
Now I know how to do jobs like that with my spouse. Film it for others so we have to be nicer to each other!😁

Doug, you could have made a dead man lift since you didn't want to use the dry wall lift for the reasons given. Ashley, you were a trooper! I have to commend you Doug for making the cuts, especially around the shower wall!

It was funny watching you two put up the drywall. I helped my Dad a long time ago put up drywall. Nothing was square so we had so much trouble. I would hold up the drywall untill I just hollered (I am about to drop this).

I'm so excited for you to finally get your toilet back! Don't know what you used, but I'm sure it wasn't fun, with two kids! I've been where Ashley is.. holding up that drywall, and it IS NOT easy! Looks like it would be, but it's not, and your arms get tired really really fast! When my ex and I did two different houses, we didn't have one of those drywall holder upper thingys… so it was all done by me holding and him screwing it in! Not fun.... you guys are amazing and work so well together. Can hardly wait to see the totally finished bathroom.
