Wow - that is a real trip you're doing. Great!!!! Yep - try it - just remember the trolling speeds. I used this with a down rigger as stated. Just drop the ball within 5 feet over the tops of the rocks and let it do its job (it will). That's true. Since the COVID almost took us both out I just got flat sidetracked on all that. I'll try and get another up before the season.
