The wait at the ER is horrible out here in Houston. I took my son to Texas Children’s Hospital twice in the past year, and both times we had to wait over 6hrs to be placed in a room. Then we were there for an additional 3 hrs. During our recent visit, the receptionist was going around checking on and updating the Hispanics/Latinos but overlooked the African Americans. When we get to the room, he said there are no more covers. It took an African American nurse to find my son one in less than a minute.

I'm sorry but this is stupid. Does he know the immigration status of anyone in that hospital. Just because you have personal insurance that doesn't mean you jump the line. The ER is the ER. What if these were people just living in the U.S. while they work. He knows nothing about the people in the ER in front of him. If this is the way he feels, if he ever has to go to a hospital overseas, he should allow all the citizens to go before him. 2 hours for the whole ER visit or two hours to be seen? Where can you go in America, even places with no immigrants, where ERs don't take a long time, unless it's a city with like 3,000 residents?

The medical professionals will observe and attend to you according to your medical condition.
For instance, a patient with a heart condition or a brain injury will be seen prior to patient with a flu or a fever.
