For a clack build lover, the yellow and red is definitely awesome. Been trying it here as a tester and loved it ❤ and your vid is just another statement for it.
I know that hmx signature sound is crisp high pitch clack. But i just wished the ws arowana have a tactile version with hmx as manu since it's never been done i think and could be their first. But i guess this is nice too
I suppose it’s already similar to what’s offered in the HMX snow crash, but I’d love the black version of these switches with a lighter spring. 4 mm travel with a long snappy spring but a lighter spring weight (say 50-55g) is a great combo.
As someone who has been lubing their own switches for over 8 years now, and am very practiced at applying a consistent thin layer of lubw, I cant believe how much lube HMX globs on to their switches. Im also surprised that they dont feel sluggish either. It makes me wonder if they are designed with looser tolerances so that gap can be filled with lube? If thats true, will they feel as stable as they do a few years into use? Or is this why they use super long springs to overcome any sluggishness on the upstroke potentially introduced by lube?
It would be really cool if you were able to review durock switches. I know they are pricey , but they've got a great sounding selection from the descriptions I've read on their website. Not sure if you'd put them all in the same video or separate videos for tactile and linear but would love to see that!
I'd love to see that too. Durock switches have been hit or miss for me because of the sub-par stock lube. They can be great hand lubed of course but it's nice being to buy a switch that's well lubed out the box.
