In the end Jack Marston won but at what cost...

Since I played Red Dead Redemption 2 this ending doesn't feel good at all. All I can think of are the words of Arthur Morgan: "Revenge is a fools game".
Revenge costs John Marston his life and even Edgar Ross himself lost his life in the end because of it. It's really a never ending cycle.
Jack Marston had his revenge but no one is alive anymore from his family...
