4:36 If you want a scale on how big this would actually be when blown up, here's a rough one. In Kurzgesagts most recent video, they show you Project Sundial, and in this video, they show you 15 Billion Hiroshima bombs. Assuming Hiroshima was around 15 kilotons, 15,000*10,000,000,000=150,000,000,000,000. 150 hundred trillion tons is about 150 Teratons, which probably isn't even a thing. The Chicxulub crater measures over 150 km across. It's small in comparison to what can be done. Most nuclear bombs are detonated over the ground to cause the most damage. The ground is really tough and absorbs tons of damage.
@@Clymaxx Don't forget that asteroids have an advantage of high speed collision, meaning they can generate a bigger crater. Meanwhile with nuclear bombs, they are set of stationary, and if instead is the warhead of an ICBM, they are usually detonated some distance off the ground to maximise damage to the surrounding area. Edit: Though you are right on your stuff. Especially the last sentence, nukes detonated on the ground have a severe loss in their strength. If they are detonated on the ground, they generate a bigger crater than in the air.

I chuckled a bit at the disintegration of that bird. Not sure why.

ikr I waa thinking of that too :/
No its not , the fire is already under control , besides , fires in the amazon are very common this part of the year.
@@paot8726 No, it's not. This part of the year is indeed a dry period, but these many fires aren't at all natural. And they're not controlled yet. TH-cam channel Nostalgia latest video was just about that, and he provides links and sourced to many info said in the video. There are English subtitles also; I recommend you go watch it.

what about bedrock?

“A small crater, about 10km.”
Okay buddy.
Well, that's tiny compared to the total surface area of Earth.
The Chicxulub crater measures over 150 km across. It's small in comparison to what can be done. Most nuclear bombs are detonated over the ground to cause the most damage. The ground is really tough and absorbs tons of damage.
0okamino well yes but to us its like huge but i still agree that it would be quite small conpared to earth
Think about how we have the moon now, a literal planet the same size as smashed into the pre-Earth! Now that's a game changer!
