28/06/24 - Winds gradually easing in the north - Morning Weather Forecast UK -Met Office Weather

A wet start for much of Scotland with showers or showery outbreaks of rain for parts of northern England, Northern Ireland and extending into mid Wales and perhaps southwest England. Remaining parts of England and Wales will be essentially dry with a mix of sunny spells and variable cloud cover. Temperatures will be lower compared to recently, especially across southeast England- This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 28/06/24. It is lovely - 12 C in Ealing London. I got up and started gardening at 4 am and just finished the work. This is the type of temperature which allows one to work hard in the garden.

I must confess that I’m always frustrated that the weather summary at the end always misses a large section of the country. The bit in the middle. Cardiff and Manchester listed nothing covering large conurbations Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester etc. So for many in the middle of the country which summary do we read to reflect what our weather may look like?

Watching this from western Sweden, I must say we have the same problem with the weather forecasts when they are presented from a studio in Stockholm, with its location in eastern Sweden. "Oh what a beautiful day it has been today." They weather man sometimes blurts out. All the while it has been pouring down all day long in the western parts of the country.
