Just wanted to thank you for this video! I have a 2017 Civic with a CVT and found that same sensor was the cure... and NOT the one indicated by the code. My other problem was that the mechanic I took it too change the fluid but NOT the filters. 🤬

Thank you for your video. Really well done and clearly made! We have a 2009 Nissan Murano with 100,000 miles and it’s still a great car but we were told we need a new transmission by our Nissan dealership. Do you think the same approach with a new sensor would translate to a Nissan?

it's hard to say for sure over the net, but with the cost of trans replacement so high, it may be worth a shot to do the fluid/filter and sensors and see.

would have been nice to hear the car and see another driving video clip....so basically you changed the fluid, filters and speed sensor and no issues with the cvt...or still some slipping?

yeah, it fixed the issues, and it was mainly the sensor that fixed it.

Where is your workshop located? My Hr-v ex-l has the same problem and only has 104,710 miles and the Honda dealer doesn't want to replace it due to the extended warranty, they want to charge me for a new transmission.

I am located in Tulsa Oklahoma. Try replacing those sensors and maybe you'll get lucky and not need a transmission. If you do, the cheapest option is to buy a junkyard trans from a known good car that just got wrecked.

I'm surprised the drain pan isn't sealed with RTV.

While the CVT fluids have a schedule for replacement, what about the inside filter? How often should that be replaced?

I've not seen a recommendation from the manufacturers, but I am of the opinion it wouldn't hurt to change the filters around every 50k miles
