UPDATE (3/17): Eastern Conference Wild Card Standings 1) Tampa Bay Lightning (67 GP, 78 PTS) 2) Detroit Red Wings (67 GP, 74 PTS) 3) Washington Capitals (66 GP, 73 PTS) 4) New York Islanders (67 GP, 73 PTS) From Mike Kelly via X: “The Islanders were bottom-five in the league in the amount of time spent defending in their own end before Roy took over. They've cut that by over a minute per 60, now ranking 12th since the coaching change. They've gone from allowing the second most rush chances to the 6th fewest and from the worst expected goals against to middle-of-the-pack, which is fine when you have an elite goalie." “Less time defending, more time in the attacking zone. Offensively, the Islanders have gone from 5:38 OZ possession per 60 to 6:25 since the coaching change. From slightly below average in slot shots and cycle chances to 1st and 2nd, respectively. They lead the league in expected goals per 60 since Roy took over and rank 5th in goals." “The Islanders had the second worst points percentage in the Metro when Roy took over - today, they sit 3rd. He deserves a lot of credit." Bo Horvat on the Islanders turnaround (in the New York Post): “Honestly, I just think we’re all playing together. Obviously we’re all getting used to new systems and stuff like that. I think we have all four lines going, too, which is a big thing. Other guys are stepping up at different times.”
Never underestimate the power of Roy!!! Roy is winner no matter what he does. He wouldn't do this if he thought this was a loser team. He is so passionate he will do anything he can do to win!!!!
The Isles just love giving us fans heart attacks, most embarrassing game of the season at MetLife, lose all hope, all of a sudden, 6 game winning streak😭😭
I'd be interested to see a similar video about the wild race in the West. In the last couple months, Nashville has gone on a tear, St. Louis has been bounced hardcore, and LA has rebounded so hard they've bumped Vegas of all teams into the danger spot. All this while 4 teams are still battling and often tied a few points outside.
the guy is 33 and will be 34 next season..passed his best years after this year and a major overpayment at 7M till he is 38 turning 39..as a Sabres fan?? I wish the old Red Wings would take on that contract and get even older..or the old Islanders also get him and get older also lol 👍

You know it's bad when a six-game winning streak has you in tears... my condolences...

Love the idea. Great thinking and thanks for the suggestion. That is absolutely wild!
Here comes the Sabres bwoy! Red Wings tonight!
Islanders are now on a skid is it all Roy’s fault?
Lol, this would be a funny follow-up video. “Nevermind. The Patrick Roy Experiment FAILED”
Nope we’re back
The GoalZone Curse? Talk some shit about the Blackhawks
I’ll start taking team requests. $5 a pop!
