The scariest part is that this was AFTER he overdosed, meaning he had to actually learn how to rap and put rhymes together again. It's almost like he got better after because look at him now with Kamikaze and Music to be Murdered by, he's a wordsmith now. I mean he's always been, but it seems like nowadays his rhyme schemes, flows and cadences has gotten to a God level.

Would love to agree with this, because of the use of accents he discovered a new way of rhyming, he learned to bend words that shouldn't rhyme but he made it rhyme because of the accent, it's wild

Verse 2 is one of his best verses of all time from a technical standpoint. Relapse and Refill is his most technical album by faaaar and if you disagree, you aren’t listening hard enough.
Anyone who hasn’t still needs to listen to this album from start to finish plus Refill as well. The rhyme schemes and production are amazing. I never understood why people shit on this album. This is 10x better than Encore or Revival IMO. Crazy, zany killer Eminem is one of the best versions of Eminem and this is entire project of that Eminem.

Honestly, big cred to this review BOTH of you really listened and even gave me another light on that second verse. When one listens to Em a lot, one gets "spoiled" with another level so I did not really realise how great that second verse is, its really flawless and reminds me of his Patiently Waiting verse which is one of his best - top reaction. Also the hook is genius catchy on this one.
This song was from Relapse where Em was relearning how to rap. When he was in rehab, prior to this, he spent a lot of time watching serial killer documentaries so that’s why this album features a lot of serial killer references
The reason why I said the song is not about ganja is because I believe it's an allegory. As you said, Em's just rapping and there's no coherent theme. But he never raps freestyle songs. There's always something specific that he's addressing even though the song might be all over the place. The way he says he knows every serial killer in chronological order and their m. o. makes me think he's talking about other rappers and their techniques. Eminem studies other rappers. Plus he mentions Dre a lot and in the beginning he says "I smell something in the air that's making me high", which sounds like "hi" (a reference to "hi, my name is"). And at the end he says "this isn't even a weed thing, I ain't even smoke anything, I ain't even drinking". So there's something deeper than just freestyle raps. I think the song might be about him being able to make music without drugs. He's basically saying that he's a good rapper even when he's sober. He was writing this song after experiencing writer's block and getting sober. He was like "yea, I still got this, let me write a dope song about it".

I'm not a fan of the accents, maybe because he used accents in almost ever single track on this album, because thats what he thought people wanted, but i have a feeling even he knew it was way too much which is why one of the only tracks that doesn't used accents is the very last track on the album and its titled "Careful what you wish for" ... people wanted him to rhyme everything too much and i think this was a subtle way of him saying 'thats not what you really want'... i could be trippin, but i don't think so.
