I always think of them as trying to cure the other units. As in they are all sick so they knock them out and give them medicine, then return them to their town.

Blowdarters are better, they are able to beat stronger units like the King and Mammoth, plus they're cheaper (Blowdart: 220 Potionseller: 340)
