This is beautiful. I worked for the first time yesterday with the gold leaf. Mine was not so successful lol but I had fun. I will have to try your way I think. I have tiny bits of gold leaf throughout my craft room after my disaster 😂 thank you for sharing. I love it over the neutral background. 💖 14:02
Gold flakes 😁 Very enjoyable video , loved the concept , thank you for sharing . You have been suggested by You Tube . Subscribed . Looking forward to see more of your craft . Have a great week ahead .
I have never had a problem with gold leaf oxidising. I have some in an art journal which I did 13 years ago and it is still as good as when I took it out from between its protective pages. I used simple Wood glue to stick it down and have never varnished it.
Then it might be transfer foil as well! There are different types. They look pretty much similar. I had really bad oxidizing before right on my canvas 🥲 Wasn't happy to say the least
Usually if it gold leaf indeed, then it is an alloy of copper and zinc. They do oxidize, it's just their nature. If it is something else (could be of course, technologies improve), then it is not called gold leaf in my country. Don't know about others. It can be called something else and work absolutely the same. Also silver one doesn't oxidize because it's aluminium.
@@weiss_paper I have gold leaf as well as silver in this. If I am not mistaken, also a coppery one. But I might be mistaken. There is no brand name, I got them from a friend. They are all held between orange coloured sheets that keep them straight. No idea. I have seen people use the exact same kind when decorating rooms in chateaus. The exact kind I have.
Love your tutorial! Right now I’m working on napkins (decoupage) and your video came up on my feed! I haven’t done junk journal but I have done some vintage stamping and collages! I have so much gold leaf sheets and you have helped me find a way to use it lol! Thank you for sharing! Very inspired! 🙋🏻♀️💕 Cindy~
I don't know why I didn't think of using a brush with my glue, I always used a spatula to put the glue through the stencil. The brush makes it easy to get into the smaller areas without wasting a lot of the glue. Thank you for the idea!
With spatula it is also possible to smudge the image. But it is much quicker than with the brush. Depends on the look you're aiming for ☺️ Thank you for watching!
Enjoyable to watch. I doubt I'll work with gold leaf, but I'm inspired by the simple background collage and the options it offers. I play with ideas in my junk journals, although I hope someday to make something more planned.
Thank you for all these helpful tips! I love that you create collages with meaning! I always have to have connection with what I create! I use my JJs all different reasons - like you - that's me too!
I would say I have been a treasure hunter for 2.5 years and now I am starting to actually make some journals. My favourite things to work with are texture - fabrics/braid/laces, embossing, stencils and handmade papers. They make me drool - they are so yummy! @@weiss_paper

@@weiss_paper no, it is definitely gold foil. Breaks into many tiny pieces when brushed. I am sorry you had a bad deal.
@@Deeply-k3t now I'm wondering what brand you used 😁 because the ones I know are all like that 🥲

I love any leafing product, far superior to the fake look of foils IMO. But, your cover is GORGEOUS😍🤩😍 and the star of the show here! TFS 🙂
Thank you! That's why I like gold foil too 🤗
This is beautiful. I'm going to try it. TFS. Austin TX USA

@@gemmalclarke I also like texture, especially lace. But for some reason use it very rarely. Need to plan to use it more for the future videos
