The Toyota Belta (Japanese: トヨタ ベルタ Toyota Beruta), referred to in North American and Australian markets as the Toyota Yaris and in Asian markets as the Toyota Vios, is a subcompact sedan manufactured by Toyota.
The successor to the discontinued Toyota Platz sedan, the Belta has increased in size over the previous generation such that its interior volume is larger than the E120 Corolla. The Belta went on sale in Japan on 28 November 2005 equipped with 1.0- to 1.3-liter engines and is available at Toyota dealership Toyopet Store. Export sales began in 2006, with most markets receiving a 1.5-liter engine as standard fitment.[3]
For most Asian markets (except Japan, Hong Kong and Macau), the Belta is sold as the Vios is built and assembled in the Philippines and Thailand. For the Japanese, American and Middle Eastern markets (except Israel, Morocco, United Kingdom, Korea, Russia and Europe) the Belta is built in Japan.
The name "Belta" is a contraction of the Italian words "bella gente", or "beautiful people".

Completely satisfied with my Toyota Belta 2007. A perfect family sedan car in 10Lac budget with excellent performance in terms of AC, trunk and room Space, suspension, drive, comfort and other features. I am getting 15KMPL on long with ac and 12KMPL in city.

I had this car for 5 years. Yes it is little under powered, but not too much.
I used to get the avg of 14 kmpl in summers with AC in city and upto 20 kmpl on long route.
Major issue with the car is the catalytic converter, get it cleaned and the knocking issue will also go away.

@@Daniyalumer95 Belta 1.0 is extremely under-powered and the fuel economy is also below average. 9-10 kmpl are civic numbers, and civic can actually carry its own weight.
Although 1.3 is a good choice, but 1000cc is extremely frustrating to drive.

i had the same car 2008 yaris 1.3 ltr hatchback in dubai & i used from 2008 to 2016 very good car never spend even single derham in eight years , & then feb 2016 i had an accident And my car was canceled , then i have buye new 2016 yaris 1.5 ltr hatchback almost more then four year i m driving there is no issue , very relieble car

The big issue in Belta 1000 is vibrating of engine in idle position. I had tried lots to rectify the with consultation with Toyota specialist mechanics but failed.
Guys Cars with CVT such as belta, vitz and Passo main Toyota ka 4L CVT F dalta hai(Tin Can), never try to put any Automatic Transmission Fluid. My family bought a vitz and the previous owner had put AT F and after sometime we had to replace the transmission.
