Ohio vs NC Beef Over First in Flight

First in Flight. That's what it says on North Carolina's license plates. BUT, the Wright Brothers were from Ohio. So which state can rightfully claim to be the 'First in Flight'? More importantly, are people getting jumped in the state of Ohio over there North Carolina license plates???
