That is far from the truth. It was NOT like North Korea. That was an official event, like a school program where everyone was in their event costumes/uniforms with props and all.. THAT IS NOT NORTH KOREA. North Korea became a communist country. The Philippines was not and is not a communist country becoz martial law saved the Philippines from becoming like a North Korea. The Philippines declared martial law in 1972 to 1981 to PREVENT COMMUNIST INVASION. Research MV Karagatan 1972 and MV Andrea 1974, those were two major reasons why martial law was declared by Marcos..... Bakit mo binabaliktad ang totoo? Martial law was declared to STOP communist groups and NPA led by Ninoy Aquino Jr. and Joma Sison from destroying the country. Ipinakulong sila ni Marcos, naging mapayapa ang Pilipinas under martial law. And martial law ended in 1981, not in 1986. EDSA 1 People Power 1986 did NOT end martial law or brought back democracy, becoz democracy never left, and democracy was there even under martial law. Look at Mindanao, there is martial law there to protect democracy and the safety of the people. Hanggang ngayon magulo pa rin ang Pilipinas at marami pa rin ang mga CPP at NPA dahil in 1986 pinalaya lahat ni Cory Aquino ang mga communista, rebelde at mga drug lords... Pinalaya ni Cory Aquino si Joma Sison and friends in 1986... kaya ngayon sila pa rin ang mga traydor ng Pilipinas....

This IS North Korean-esque. I've never seen a school event promote a political party. Nakakadisappoint talaga ang mga ibang Pilipino.

In 1986 snap elections, Marcos was against the legalization of the communist party CPP-NPA, but Cory Aquino was in favor of legalizing the communist party CPP-NPA becoz her husband Ninoy was one of the communist founders, and it was one of the favors that Cory had to give to the communists for her to win the snap elections 1986... If you research your history you will find out that President Marcos saved many refugees, more than 400,000++ refugees from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia etc. escaping their communist-invaded countries in small boats and finding themselves in Malaysia, Thailand, Hongkong and the Philippines. While the Philippines was under martial law (1972 to 1981), from 1975 to 1980s, Vietnamese refugees were escaping Vietnam that was invaded by the communists and arriving in the Philippines in the thousands!!! They feared their lives were in grave danger if they stayed in Vietnam, under the communist regime. Thus, if Marcos did not declare martial law in 1972, probably Filipino people became refugees as well, and would have been like the Vietnamese who were very desperate to escape Vietnam invaded by communists!! In fact, the CPP-NPA were following the Vietnam model on how to invade the Philippines and put the country under communist regime. But the martial law of Marcos saved the Philippines from civil war and communist invasion!!!
President Marcos established the refugee camps in Bataan and Palawan for the refugees coming from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and also Iran. Marcos worked with UNHCR (United Nations High Commission for Refugees) and created the Philippine Refugee Processing Center in in Morong, Bataan. Because of President Marcos, the Philippine government gave shelter to more than 400,000 refugees, created programs to train and prepare the refugees for their new lives once relocated to foreign shores (USA, Canada, Australia and Europe). Refugees had classes to learn English and other education programs.
According to some comments of past refugees, they said that the Philippines treated them as refugees well and they lived in a "village" created by the Marcos government for them so they could continue living their life and their culture, as compared to other Asian countries like Malaysia, Indonesia or Thailand, were they said most of the refugees were treated like slaves or maltreated, and they were like prisoners... If President Marcos did not declare martial law in 1972, the Filipino people would have been among those refugees escaping the communists!!
Under President Marcos, there were 3 waves of refugees accepted by the Philippines from 1975 to 1980s. These countries were invaded by COMMUNIST groups, the same kind of communists that Ninoy Aquino Jr. and Joma Sison were working with at the Hacienda Luisita etc. Read again the real history and find out how many bombings and serious public threats and how many people were killed by the NPA rebels and CPP communist party of Aquino and Joma Sison.
