This was taken from my stream on October 13th, 2022! Catch me live Monday to Friday here: / northernlion When I don't know what to play, I play Sporcle. It's perfect!
40:00 that's where the Minotaur myth is from. dropped by there half randomly once. cool place historically. crete being an island half way between egypt and mainland greece made it a central place in world history. they found tablets there with script predating mycenaean greek. ie. the evolutionary path of the characters you're deciphering with your eyeballs right now came through this island. these are important artifacts because a lot of this stuff was lost in the bronze age collapse.
thank you NL for showing Ottawa some love! didn't know u grew up in kingston: hearing the words "Byward Market" in an NL video was not what I was expecting to see today
Spending $80k going to grad school for history and spending an entire decade having no hobbies but reading, and the first time it has manifested a concrete benefit was getting $100 on the portrait quiz.
As a Philadelphian, gotta push back on saying public art would be rubble here- Philadelphia is called the "Mural Capital of the World", you cant drive 5 minutes without seeing a Mural, but there is also A LOT of statues and art pieces around. One of our most known symbols is the LOVE sign which is just in a park.
The sharp center for "design" should have been named the L tower. I feel bad for anyone who lives near there and has to look at that monstrosity every day.
Tears rolling down my face watching him slowly scroll through to the Helen Keller one. Woke my neighbours up for sure
NL calling Helen Keller a crone was a great moment
Literally the funniest thing I’ve ever seen
the reason she's got her hand on his face is to feel his speech. its one of the best ways blind deaf people can communicate
"Touching moment", I see what you did there, NL.
Dunno the last time I had to laugh this much 💀🤣
I didn’t know it was Hellen Keller either. When he figured it out I lost it and was like uh oh he’s gonna get cancelled 😂
"This is Mao and Nixon... nightmare blunt rotation" holy shit my sides, I haven't laughed that hard in a bit
NL went from “name a woman” to “Hellen Keller is a crone”
NL guessing Frederick jokingly then it being Frederick the Second was hilarious
they really do all be fredericks
When you got a prussian King it's either Frederick or wilhelm or both
The Helen reveal was the hardest ive laughed all year when i saw it on stream😁
It was funnier knowing who it was to begin with
NL's face when he realized who it was, internally praying he didn't get cancelled somehow
It's so good because instantly the pieces click and he looks like the worst person on earth for making fun of her looking weird and touching his face
Churchill and Stalin is the endgame blunt rotation.
The nightmare blunt rotation bit is a good bit.
I want to see more of this bit.
52:53 "Well they built it in the right city" oh my god LOL
"Also Francis the last if I had to guess" was the most clever insult I've heard in a while, love you NL
7:57 that is absolutely Jack Black. That Jack Black impression though...
the helen keller x eisenhower thing has me dying oh my god
Not sure about worldly, but Northernlion is one of the gamers to ever exist.
Dutch painters : proceeds to name a suspicious amount of French painters
40:00 that's where the Minotaur myth is from. dropped by there half randomly once. cool place historically.

NL making up names for Calgary buildings absolutely sent me
Rootin tootin cowboy Dancin Mario place or sumn 😂😂
His answers on the last quiz where he gave up had me fuckin' rolling
“Probably Francis the last if I had to guess” holy SHIT I’m dying 😂
thank you NL for showing Ottawa some love! didn't know u grew up in kingston: hearing the words "Byward Market" in an NL video was not what I was expecting to see today
"There's no way that basement is not full of gold bars."
Boy do I have a surprising fact about Canada's gold reserve.
Only NL would know the number of of Canadians conscripted into World War 2 from the top of his head but not know what the Pantheon is
his religion blind spot has no discrimination
Whenever NL tried to read hebrew names something inside me changes forever
Spending $80k going to grad school for history and spending an entire decade having no hobbies but reading, and the first time it has manifested a concrete benefit was getting $100 on the portrait quiz.
Worth
You guys are getting paid?
@@chatnoir9038 I went to school for history so I never learned the difference between percent signs and dollar signs. Did I use the wrong one?
no
@@saintsalieri NTA. Your comment your rules.
17:50 - The top part of his top hat blends in so well into the background. Looks like he's wearing a very squat hat.
"Hank Aaron" killed me...RIP LMAO
Nl having chat name every building and pretending like he knew them is hilarious
the last quiz left me in tears
lmao the jack black/paul revere bit sent me
The Arch of Constantine voice absolutely sent me spiraling 😭
11:37 "Francis the first more like Francis the last" Gold
NL’s knowledge is a bit like a 2ft deep ocean
Man Chutes too Narrow was such an amazing fucking record
Love how his funny story for Capone is really close to the real thing
46:47 Dude my immediate thought when I saw that building was that it's what I imagined the Ministry of Love looked like (never saw the movie).
The continuation of the Buffalo bit is amazing tbh.
That built to spill reference was amazing lol
19:36 And that is why I have chosen Helen Keller as my hero
NL is ON FIRE with his comparisons. My word.
so the guy photobombing the popes at 18:38 is literally my cousin lmao he's part of the vatican police force 😅
NL talking about Helen Keller Picture
Me: "His reaction to the reveal is gonna taste so sweet"
As a Philadelphian, gotta push back on saying public art would be rubble here-

quite insane how much canada a) loves a bank and b) will name 80% of its buildings after a bank. christ
that jack black impression had me dead
Calling it now it was Thomas more in the thumbnail
these completely nonsensical yet somehow accurate comparisons to stranger things characters are unreal
The sharp center for "design" should have been named the L tower. I feel bad for anyone who lives near there and has to look at that monstrosity every day.
Sir Thomas more was given sainthood by the Catholic Church and I attended a school named after him as a child
Calgary guesses were a major +2
the helen reveal omfg
As a Calgary dweller, those names sent me
I guess we'll never find out what Edmonton is like 😔
Appreciated.
You never heard of the mont saint michel?! But it's both in Kingdom Hearts AND Sniper Elite 5!
Why in the world does Frederick Douglass's name have "s"s at the end? I coudn't get that one right despite knowing exactly who it was...
How much you wanna bet that guy at 1:01 can throw a football over them mountains?
pog
This man calling the capital of Ontario Toe-Ron-Toe. My brother in Christ, its pronounced Chur-awe-noh
half these buildings are literally in assassins creed 2 and/or brotherhood lmao
me as a Minnesotan who crosses that bridge, it's been about 15 years: we built a better bridge
Algorithmic engagement
As a Calgarian, I'm trying to be offended by the Calgary section, but I'm laughing too damn hard.
Francis I portrait looks a bit like an AI made it, ngl
Blessed egg content! ❤
14:22 is Post Malone & Leonardo DiCaprio
2:08 Christopher Columbus was Italian
Personally, I like the theory that his family were Iberian Jews that fled to the Republic of Genoa after the 1391 pogroms.
Did you ever play map games at all? Henry the Navigator is in Civ, Wallachia is around at the start of EU4... sad
A geologist never is bporing, with that historical land..!
There is a Pokémon you can only catch in buffalo
Francis I looking like Kripparian.
can you do a tier list on race
As long as this is a joke, it's hilarious.
You can tell Northernlion never played age of empires 3
I know Robespierre only because of the Bill Wurtz video.
A middle age white man making fun of other cultures is real poggers!
