Please take care Takuya. Also, maybe it's time for you to get more team members on the team and can share the workload. You don't have to do it all alone and after a point of time, it is even better of more people are with you to share the workload and stress.

Hi Takuya, I have been using your app since 2019, and it really helped me while I was doing my PhD to help organize my research, but also keep track of my studies and life. I use it every day and I’m sure there are many others who are the same. I think you should just trust in yourself and your design sense and don’t worry too much about users brought in by short term media hype. In the long term solid engineering and reliability wins out, just like in the case of vim and emacs. I’m sure everything will be ok!

Hope you recover Takuya! Burnout sucks and it leaves a lot of scars that take long to heal. I've burned out 3 times already, and every time it gets worse, it's really difficult to get back to the normal pace. I'm still facing sequels from those. Please take time for you!

Takuya, see it this way: You started out with your idea of how the app is going to be used and you built and shipped it. This is more than so many other ever will be able to do. So, bravo to that.
And see this new phase as a refinement of your UX and UI. In this phase you will use the typical measurements of how users perceive your app and it's UI. Ask a lot of questions. Read up in UX UI refinement - it might even be a new exciting path you're visiting for some time 😊 Best of luck and if you need help, just ask 😊

Oh, I can still recall my first burnout like it was yesterday. I'd just stare at my computer for hours, trying to find the energy to start working. Ended up writing a resignation letter out of frustration. Took a solid 7 months off to chill and even went on a trip with my girlfriend back then. But now, things are way better. Got a better job, making more money, and actually managing to keep a good balance between work and everything else. Take care Takuya! take your time to recover.

Hey Takuya, I'm one of those those users that started to use inkdrop, and stopped using it. I hope my testimonial will give Insight into why.
I honestly didn't instinctively understand how inkdrop could replace the tools I already use. Inkdrop is highly sophisticated and offers more than enough in terms of note-taking and 'code-taking', it's almost overwhelming. I feel like inkdrop doesn't 'snap' into my routine as much.
Now, I truly believe inkdrop offers value in it's near perfect integrations and compatibility as well as its UI, and its community as well.
Perhaps a 'Light' version of inkdrop for simple note-taking and code writing, targeted for the mass could really allow you to gain much more users, and retain them in the long run. And then for the extra sophisticated users Inkdrop (as it is now) is extremely useful.
I hope this helps, I don't mean to offend in any way shape or form, I've been watching your videos since the beginning and I'm a huge fan. Love from Spain 🇪🇸

I discovered your channel thanks to a TH-cam recommendation about Windows Terminal configuration, and ever since I've been subscribed and watched all of your videos. The work and quality you put in every video is top notch and the fact that you use Neovim makes it even better. In fact, you're one of the reasons why I switched to modal editing. On the other hand, I'm somewhat rudimentary in terms of "managing knowledge", so I basically save every website that I find interesting in my bookmarks and that's pretty much it... so I might not be a target for your app. That being said, I haven't seen your app announced nor recommended anywhere other than in your own channel; perhaps some ads would help together with the how tos that you mention. As a suggestion, it would be nice to see not only the how tos about how to use it, but also how to consume it, like the use cases that would require you to save that knowledge and consume it later in a real life scenario.

Hello, Takuya! I am a developer, and like you, I wanted to create my own app but couldn't imagine doing it successfully on my own. One day, I came across your channel and was very inspired by your experience. I have been working on my app for several years now and this year, I started receiving my first paid subscriptions. Currently, I have been working on a complex refactoring for several months and your videos have been incredibly supportive - they make you feel like it's a normal, challenging but awesome path to achieving results.
Thank you for sharing your experience and inspiring others!

That’s far from ideal. There’s enough market for everyone, I personally pay for quality tools. Even my notes app.
That said - in this situation I would narrow down my feature set and bet in quality and a more premium service with a freemium model. Hard to achieve maybe; possible? Yes, 100%.

Hi Takuya, just saw this video and wanted to mention that watching your videos inspired me to return to coding in my off time (I transitioned from senior dev to product management two years ago). • @AivarsMeijers

Health and mental state are more critical than MRR or audience on social networks. Great that you identified this problem and took a break.
Your videos are great, but you are absolutely right about the need for more education. Even though we can see you using the app in your videos, there is not much info on exactly how to use it.
I would look at popular note-taking apps like Notion, Obsidian, etc., and popular videos about them. The would do my take on ideas I like and share my own use cases for the app. Implementing storytelling in those videos and sticking with your style would certainly help.
Something like "How I manage notes for my software projects in Inkdrop App" would work.

As ex engineers i would say.. Burnout is a real thing. Understand that user churn out is something you can't control. Instead of focus heavily on something you can't control, think what you can control. Without getting worried about results. Remember, you can only work as hard as you can but the result is always in hands of Allah and He knows best.

Hey Takuya, I have some quick feedback on the app. I used the app from 2021 to 2022, but I ended up switching to another app. However, with all the recent work and updates I've seen, I wanted to give it another try. Unfortunately, I noticed that I couldn't access the old information I had in the app without paying. Honestly, this was a turnoff for me. How can I store my data in an app that locks it unless I pay? I'm not asking for full access without payment, but I should at least be able to view or retrieve my data as a non-paying customer. This is a major drawback for me. I think you should offer a free tier version so that anyone can access and test the app. I know you currently have a 30-day free trial, but that means users only have 30 days to use it and either pay or lose their stored data. I suggest eliminating the 30-day limit and implementing a free tier. These are just some quick feedback points. Best of luck!

Will be giving Inkdrop a try! Been looking for a note taking application that is more targeted at developers. The note taking space is very competitive so I think anything you can do to make your application stick out would be beneficial. If developers / technical users is your target audience shaping your marketing and educational materials around them would probably go a long way. I will try to share any feedback I have as I learn the application and try to apply it to my daily workflow. Enjoy your break and get some much needed rest!
