- Storyline:
The two kingdoms have been under conflict for many years. When war seemed inevitable and disadvantages seemed to arise, The queen decided to send her younger son to the enemy kingdom as a hostage. He was considered useless, incompetent, a coward and unworthy of the title of a prince. And so when he found out that he could be of some help to his country, he gladly chose to comply even though his safety was not the least bit ensured.
The Mingyu kingdom was not ruled by a king but by it's crown prince; A person who was shrouded in mystery. Meeting him could be considered a chance of one in a million. Not much was known about him but one of the well known facts about the prince was that he had a scar under his right eye which was considered cursed as whosoever saw it Directly would not live to tell the tale.
All except for one of course. This exception was non other than Taehyung.
The useless prince made it his daily routine to pester the crown prince ever since the day he arrived on this foreign land.
It started as a friendship and developed into something furthermore.
Though the crown prince never said it openly, he too valued and enjoyed the company of our little prince.
But now that the prince's kingdom was stable enough and planning to attack, the queen sent officials to call back her son only to realize that he was no longer willing to return to his own kingdom. Maybe this was for the better, after countless failed tries to coax the prince, he was declared as a traitor whose allegiance lay with the enemies.
The Mingyu kingdom was under threat of an attack. The court officials had abandoned the crown prince when they heard news of the matter between the two princes. The crown prince would usually behead those who turned against him, but with a loss of most of the court officials and with them the army, he could no longer solve the problem with his usual ways. The crown prince for once was under a heavy disadvantage, both his kingdom and his throne under threat .
If one were to ask "was that useless prince worth it?"
The Crowned Prince would straightforwardly answer without a second thought, "yes."
A message from the royal palace came; If the traitor was not handed over, we would be left with no other option but to go to war.
But of course the crown prince refused to hand Taehyung over and the war was declared.
With only 20,000 soldiers left to fight against an army of 100,000 men, the fall of the Mingyu kingdom was inevitable.
The people were killed.
The kingdom was burned.
And it's crown prince was beheaded.
But the reason why the fall of the immensely talented crown prince came into being was not because of the disadvantageous conditions faced but was due to one single reason; the crown prince had lost his will to fight back. And this was because the person he was fighting for and trying to protect had already died. Not in battle but by the hands of his own older brother.
He knew that he was the cause and the problem and maybe even the solution. So he asked one last favor from his brother; To not let him die by the hands of another, to be killed by his own brother.
Hence, the two princes who loved each other died.
One killed by his own blood.
And
One beheaded in his own kingdom.
But their story was not complete.
Taehyung's last wish as he waited for his death was "Let's be born again. You as you and me as me, not as some country's pawns."
And as the heavens took pity on the poor souls, his final wish was granted.
And their story once again started when they bumped into eachother.
In a new era.
