    For creating the 3D effect in this resin Geode I used the "dip" technique. I think it's a great way of adding another dimension to the Geode. Let me know what you think of it. 😀

    Really gorgeous geode. Your pigment are so vibrant. I can’t wait to get my hands on some of them. Pink and purple are my favorite colors. Thank you for continuing to teach us your craft.

    Finally!!! You are the first person that I've seen do as an actual geode would look. What most people call a geode is more like an agate slab. I have collected rocks and crystals since I was a young child and I know it shouldn't have bothered me, but it did. lol I absolutely love what you did. Thank you Petra. xxx 💖💖💖

    • @petrajongbloed4425
      @petrajongbloed4425  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I tried to make the geode look as real as possible and I agree the other type of so called geodes are more like a agate slab. I also colect rocks and crystals just like you 😀 Coming up another Geode using the dip technique! I hope you will also like that one.

    Hi Petra,
    You are amazingly talented for coming up with the 3D dip effects. This geode has got to be the best one you have done so far. It is absolutely stunning, all the crystals and gold and the glitter, it's perfect.

      Hi Tina, thank you so much for your nice words. I'm glad you like my geode. Today I will upload another geode using the dip technique and I hope you will like that one also.

    Very, very nice❣️ I love the way you did the center dip and also the way you add the Sparkle White to add shine to the crystals. Whenever you do a piece and want gold crystals, I think if you add Sparkle Miner’s Gold to the resin/crystal mix, you will get the same effect, but in gold (instead of clear/white). Not sure . . But its my hunch. Thank you for promoting my Etsy shop (FunShineColorShop)❣️ Its an honor to be your USA affiliate. 🥰

      Thank you so much Evelyn for your nice compliment. I appreciate it a lot. Yes, the Sparkle White looks amazing over the acrylic crystals. I agree by using the Sparkle Miner's Gold over acrylic crystals will give it the same look except that they have a golden sparkle. I wil add that to my list of things I want to do. Of course I will promote your Etsy Shop, no problem. 😀

    Can you show a video of exactly how you prep the board for the dip technique? I would love to see you cut the mdf and attach the board behind it. Beautiful as always. I'm a big fan! ☺

    Awesome idea! I prefer MDF board, since I don't have to worry about it dipping in the middle. I had thought about using a router and going part way through to make this effect. But this is so much easier. Absolutely beautiful!!

    I really love this one Petra, great job! Just wondering - in the first pour you used gold around the stones. Was that the same gold metallic paint you used on the mdf, mixed into resin? Or some other gold? I love the way it floats on top in the second pour!

    • @petrajongbloed4425
      @petrajongbloed4425  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much Annie for your nice compliment. I appreciate it a lot. No, the 2 gold colors are not the same. The one on the mdf is the DecoArt 24K gold and the gold around the stones is a powder pigment from a German company called Dipon. It's a beautiful gold mica powder.

      @petrajongbloed4425  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much Tania for your nice compliment. I appreciate it a lot. I'm glad you like my pigments. I have a metal hanging system that I can attache on the back of the Geode. It's not that heavy, because I used a lot of acrylic crystals and they are light weight.

  • @TrixiTrixen

    Just a question doesn’t that make the back bulky? If so would there be a way to bid the back!?

    • @petrajongbloed4425
      @petrajongbloed4425  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the back needs to be totaly flat then I would add a piece of round wood in the same size as I made my geode on Tristen. 😀❣

    How did u stick the crystals.. Did u pour resin in d dip

    • @petrajongbloed4425
      @petrajongbloed4425  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No Neha , I added a little bit of resin to the acrylic crystals and mixed them all together. Then I added them into the dip and they will stick to the sides, because of the resin.
