Oh my word... these are all beautiful, but that one towards the end, "The Leaves Around Me Falling"; I found that particularly compelling, and haunting in such a dreamy way... I'll be saving it for sure. I have been looking for some Thanksgiving hymns to play at my family's gathering tomorrow, and I'm so glad I found your video. Thank you for sharing these! I'm excited that you want to find old forgotten hymns as well -- I'll definitely keep you in mind to request in the future. My son really likes it when I sing him a certain hymn every day before his nap and bedtime, and I haven't really found a good version yet to play for him, mostly because the way I learned it from my mother, the melody and pauses were ever so slightly different... The hymn I sing for him is called "Now The Light Has Gone Away". It's a comforting one...
Thank you so much, Emily! I'm really glad you made it to the end for that one - it's my favourite perhaps of the entire year so far and not so many people found it to listen yet. :) I'd love to hear your version [with pauses, etc!] of Now the Light Has Gone Away - I just looked it up on hymnary and the lyrics are indeed beautiful! If you like, send just a quick voice memo recording or just plain singing into your phone to my email so I can hear how you mean, and maybe I can do that one in the next year or so!
