I have watched so many Icon of the Seas videos and this is by far the best. At almost $10K for this trip though my wallet had a seizure. This will be the first cruise I have taken and the first for my son Maverick. He has NO IDEA we're going to do this on his 18th birthday in two years. I gotta sell alot of watches to pay for this thing! Thanks for the great content and info guys!
@@maverickwatchreviews Yes that is the best way to look at it and why we enjoy cruising so much. It is a moving hotel that has all your needs for dining and entertainment and drops you off at a new country every couple of days
Beyond amazed at the size of the ship! You guys are so lucky to have been a part of her maiden voyage! When I was an auditor, Princess Cruises was one of my clients and one time we had to go and stay on the ship overnight while it was docked and do an inventory. We had to put on furs when we went into the freezers to count all the meat! It was overwhelming how much inventory a ship has! AND, that was back in the 1990s! I imagine there's tons more now. So looking forward to seeing this series so that I can live vicariously thru y'all!
Thanks so much Pete! Yea this was such a fun trip honestly it got us so jacked up and excited for cruising after being on small older ships a lot last year
So jealous. I haven't been on a cruise since 2011. Wish I was with ya. Thanks for this video..This ship looks amazing. Hoping your 2024 is been a good one so far!!
Oh Man!! MAYBE One Day I'll go...I get very queasy with any motion that tips a degree to either side, but maybe. LOLL Thank you for a fun and great video!!
It was so fun. We only really felt the ship moving much one of the days, I think day 6 when the waves were a bit rough and windy. Very easy sailing for us this time around
Hey kids! No place for your shoes ..oh boy ..I usually pack 7 or 8 pairs lol . What was in Rachel’s back pack ? Jimmy Hoffa ? It looked heavy . The ship looks awesome . My friend lives on Miami Beach and we saw it heading out to sea . It’s ginormous . Can’t wait for the rest of your videos 😎😎😎
Haha we definitely overpack and our backpack help with that 😂 we did end up putting shoes under the bed so no fear we made it through these tough times 😥 it was so fun and we had such a blast on this trip I really hope it comes thru that wat
Loved your enthusiasm! And just want to say josh I love your glasses...and Rachel you are such a beautiful lady I wish I could look so cute n a baseball cap!. ( I've been watching your vlogs).🎉🎉just a cute couple 💑enjoying life ty for sharing
Totally agree with you regarding the comment about a resort not just a ship. This cruise ship is a FLOATING RESORT. Royal has stepped up their game, but they also stepped up their prices. This cruise is sticker shock to the average cruiser. I am thrilled that you both are enjoying your honeymoon cruise. I have commented about the Infinity Balcony before and need to agree with your assessment. It extends your cabin giving you more usable space and allows you sea breezes if you open it. Beautiful Ship. New is always special. Someday, we my wife and I will try this ship. I will be the one in the URN.😜 I just hope she didn’t book it yet. 😂
Thanks so much Ted. You did point out the issue that arises even with us about the infinite balcony and that is that it stayed warmer than what we remember from regular balconies. We didn’t get to see a regular balcony to verify but it definitely felt that way some. However we loved the idea of more space and floor to ceiling Window that opened like a balcony for us. The price is tough but it really should be more compared to a Sandals resort than to a Carnival or even another RC cruise
@@JoshRachael We participated in a Cabin Crawl while on the Celebrity Edge. We saw 11 cabins including our own Aft Balcony which overlooked the wake of the engines. The balcony was much bigger on this SunVeranda Balcony. We saw and discussed the Infinity Balcony with ppl who showed us on the crawl. They were somewhat disappointed mirroring my comments earlier. We saw a Large Suite and most felt dollar for dollar the SV Balcony was the best value. Distance to the elevators was the only downside. We got plenty of exercise, but you know about burning calories. 😉.
I bet you got your steps in being on the Aft. It is definitely different and will be interesting to see how things go as people work on the technology. One thing that does seem different is that, I thought on Celebrity there was some faux wall that had to be closed to have the AC on, not just the window/balcony closed but i could be wrong.
Awesome video! So good to see another vloggers' perspective. Aren't the elevators better on this ship, as they go where you want to go and not stop at each floor?
The destination elevators is not based on the number of people. It's based on the destination. The least amount of stops to get you to your requested deck. At most the elevator may make 2 stops before you get to your floor. I went from deck 5 to deck 15 and no stops in between.
Hi guys amazing video, could you tell me an aprox of how much it cost de unlimited dinning package per person please, we are taking the 7 day icon cruise to the caribean and would love to purchase the package. Thanks
Thank you! You can catch our entire cost breakdown in this video below. Do note that it was the inaugural so we felt they upcharged a number of things for it. th-cam.com/video/E9xRrtPHxzQ/w-d-xo.html
Prime is the casino status after you achieve 2500 tier credits over a years time from April to April, we get free drinks in the casino while the casino is open, and a free 7 day interior room cruise each year with it.
Not necessarily for us. We have gotten really good at getting on the ship and immediately planning out our dinner reservations so we are used to it. I can see how some would look at it that way though. Generally we track when all aboard is and if we have show reservations for the week, and plan our dinners around them. The problem is that if you don't make reservations like this you are either forced to try your luck at the buffet, hope a quick eat option is open and satisfying, or potentially wait for a table in the main dining room. There is so much to do on ships like this one we like that the UDP gives us the chance to eat at most of the places we want and a schedule is not that bad for us, since we can get carried away with other bad habits at the bars or casino.
Holy food options Batman! How much was the upcharge for all the extra hollow legs you both brought along? I was laughing thinking of the scene in Seinfeld where the flight attendant asks if they want more of anything and their response is ""more EVERYTHING!"" 🤣
Rachael’s like a little kid in a candy store entering the ship. Love y’all’s videos!
We were so excited for this trip!

Thanks so much! We have a few more videos showing our trip, they might help you as well get to see more of the ship and best/worst things to do
@@JoshRachael Oh trust me I'm binge watching all of the Icon videos...lol. I've never cruised before and OMG it truly is a resort at sea!

Yes they are! We had one bad run on them day one but for the rest of the trip they worked great
Such an AH-mazing experience!! 🎉

WOW ❤
Agreed 🤩
what about tips? you must give tips on the ship to everyone everywhere? or no tips on the cruise and you pay it per day during bookng cruise?
Gratuities can be added to the room charge in you basket while purchasing or added as a daily cost on ship, you can always add more as well
Holy food options Batman! How much was the upcharge for all the extra hollow legs you both brought along? I was laughing thinking of the scene in Seinfeld where the flight attendant asks if they want more of anything and their response is ""more EVERYTHING!"" 🤣
It was so much!!!
We watched another vlog and said there’s more places we didn’t even get to eat!
Guess we will have to go back!
How many cruises have you guys been on? Icon will be our 9th in May!
This was our 10th cruise together. This was Josh’s 14th and Rachael’s 12th
I'd rather live on a cruise ship like this then I would in a New York City apartment worth millions
1000% agree
"20 Restaurants, 30 bars". Talk about over indulgence.
Yes
