Hi Mom! This is going to be so much nicer than any manufactured toy hauler I've ever seen. You have 100% convinced me that this is the route I'm taking for my next trailer.
From a purely asthetic pov, straight, but from a load securement standpoint, you always want to cross your tiedowns. That way the load cannot shift side to side. Was a flatbedder for years.
Send some of that rain to AZ, dry as hell out here! We've had a whopping 0.48" of rain all year. Emily, your mom looks like a sweet lady and I see where your own good looks came from as well! I always secure a vehicle on each corner, works for me. Continuing great job on your trailer project, keep up the nice work! Take it out and play with it now!
I like the way you all think outside the box. The idea of using your partially converted trailer to get an idea if the layout will work at the same time while going on an adventure trip is absolutely great! It’s smart! You all are an inspiration to us all that you can do a lot yourself and if there is a will then there will be a way! Thanks you all! And oh I’m liking your new channel too!

Great vlog. Nice to see you modeling again. Wouldn’t mind seeing some of that content. Aaron is the boss driving that trailer so magnificently. Emily you got some skills putting in the trailer walls. The trailer is looking fantastic.
Hiya dear lady, wonderful video, thank you. Here in the UK, the first contact type construction adhesive was 'No nails' my favorite name for one was, 'Sticks Like Sh*t'! For real the actual name. The best way to put panels on a wall. is put the sh*t on the wall, no grabbing it with fingers in the wrong place, no transfer to panels already on the wall, etc. Stay safe...Steve...
You could have TOTALLY screwed up the seams and had bubbles on the 2nd panel with crap hanging from the glue joint and I would have said... "YOU DID A GREAT JOB BABE!". Are you kidding me? Really... Aaron played that one perfect. BTW... You really did do a GREAT job! P.S. - I'm a mechanical engineer so i couldn't help myself here... instead of the ship ladder, build a shallow set of drawers (10"-15" deep) that you could use for the kitchen, but also incorporates some steps into the front, or pull out like stairs, that you can use to get up into the bed area. I've seen steps like these before used to get access to high shelves in a kitchen area.
The ladder , you could use normal steps and hinge them at the top so they are stored upright ( and secured by some means like a strap) when not in use. I have been on a few boats that have the main access to the galley area from the deck using steps that are secured to the roof then out of the way.
I hate to be the "do it this way guy" (lol) but, I set stainless panels for kitchen hoods frequently and we use FRP glue and trowel it on. It works incredibly well for full sheets like that. It allows you to move it around yet have excellent adhesion. Excellent work. Keep it up!
Amazing work taking shape real nice. I am sure you have checked your weight distribution.. but curious how it is going to tow with a couple of tonnes of car in it rear of the axles and not forward of the axles or all good? Hate to see this amount of weight get a big sway up on the open highway
I angle my straps slightly outward. If you cross them and one comes loose, the entire load becomes loose. Best bet is to do both, to separate points. Stretches the load in two directions and keeps it more stable yet. Either way, please latch your handles all the way down. When you leave them up like that, you are relying strictly upon the pawl spring to maintain tension. When you latch the handle down, it blocks the pawl from moving altogether. Essentially, a "double lock".
Emily go to a cabinet material supplier, ask for to see wax fill sticks. Find one closest to the color of the wall cover. Rub it across the cracks and presto no cracks. And remember acetone will remove everything on a laminate (that is what they call it) glue ,adhesive permanent marker I'll take everything off but the color. But don't use it on paint it will haze paint. 😘
If you have a strap failure with a criss cross it can cause the load to shift and cause big damage. I saw a video on it and I've kept my securement straight ever since.
I am redoing my car trailer and interested in the aluminum panel and cabinet. If you would be most kind, and share where you purchased and a rough order of magnitude of cost. Thanks your trailer conversion looks great!
The metal came from a company out of Michigan called Factory RV Surplus! Cannot remember the exact cost but it was around $50 a sheet… maybe more, maybe less? It was costly but man- has made all the difference on the final look!!! factoryrvsurplus.com
Wow, the trailer is looking great y’all! The Sonic boxes with the wall paneling really brings the space together. I foresee many adventures in this rig.
Awesome video, and I had no idea the size of the trailer until you drove the Bronco in. I cross my straps on the back, straight ahead up front. I roll the excess and ziptie it to the straps.
Well way back when I was in the Marine Corps we used to criss cross the tie downs when loading on board ships, aircraft and smaller stuff on flat bed trailers. I carried it over into civilian life whenever I used to move heavy equipment too. I guess as long as it's tight, and you check once in a while to be sure, you'll be fine.
Small tip for the stainless countertop. Simple Green to clean it and some WD-40 on a rag to keep it from smudges. Of course if you plan on doing food prep you might want to skip the WD-40.

Instead of boat ladder what about in the corner by bathroom wall ripping a few pieces of stair treads or even just wood and cut them to 90 deg and make a corner stair type thing. Smaller at top and each piece gets wider as you go down. Just an idea
Idea for your bed ladder: Since you have "some" room behind the plywood you just hung to hide the wiring, you could build a flush mount stairs or "ladder" with enough room to get your foot in. No more exterior ladder, and a permanent solution that never gets in the way!
