- Perhaps the first "televangelist" back in the 1950's and the person who Reverend Robert Schuller said was his inspiration to go on television, Archbishop Sheen preaches three messages from the former sanctuary before the Crystal Cathedral was constructed. This video is now more pertinent than ever considering that the Roman Catholic Church now owns the property and has completed a loving multi-million dollar restoration of the Aboretum (the old sanctuary) and is in the midst of renovating the Crystal Cathedral (now Christ Cathedral) - anticipated completion in 2017.
Milton Berle once asked Bishop Sheen, “How is it that you have better ratings then me?” Sheen replied, “Its easy, I have better writers .. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John”.
The Church does not “make” anyone a Saint. It can only “declare” someone a Saint. If someone is in Heaven, then he is in Heaven. Period. Saint Fulton Sheen, pray for us.
Thank you so much for this, he is such an inspirational speaker, i fell 6 floors from a balcony and last year and am Paralysed forever. i have looked to God, Jesus and The blessed mother to amend my life, to which i have sinned. God is Great, and he speaks to us if we listen. Bishop sheen reminds me every time i listen to him speak. God bless you all and May God and you all forgive me of my sins. God love you.!
Let pray for the sainthood of Archbishop Fulton Sheen
This may sound weird, but one of the things about Fulton Sheen's style that really gets through to me is that he keeps holy the actual name of Jesus, especially Jesus Christ. He often says "Our Blessed Lord", in place where many modern evangelist would say "Our Lord Jesus Christ". He reserves the use of the name Jesus Christ for very serious highlights within his talk, and it allows him to keep power in the name. Some enemies of the faith make a mockery of the overuse of name Jesus Christ, and Fulton Sheen combats that fantastically by not overusing the name. For me, it makes a huge difference in my ability to hear Fulton Sheen's homilies and take them with grave sincerity.
The Real McCoy..A man who truly believed in his teaching. His gift to this world was to share the message of a better place to be. Amen ✝️
Please pray for Fulton sheen to be put back on the list for sainthood. he should never have been taken off.

As a preacher myself, I can tell you, if God were to give me one homily as good as Bishop Sheen's WORST homily, I'd be quite satisfied.
Stunned as a little kid sitting alone, watching Sheen on TV... understanding nothing, yet stunned.I intuited he was an important portal into the mysterious world ahead of me.
I remember watching the Bishop as a child. My mother never missed a show and this was before we became Catholics. I'm trying to find a nice color photo of Bishop Sheen for my home. In my eyes he already is and has always been a saint. God Bless Ven. Fulton Sheen!!!
