    Greetings, It is possible to add conditional formatting to the Gantt Chart bars? They are all black as of now and it would be cool if they changed color based on another criteria.
    For example, if it is placed on hold, the bar changes yellow.

      Hello Marc, that would be great. Not sure if it's currently possible, though. Perhaps reach out to Smartsheet on this or even raise as an enhancement

    Hi, What happens if I have one task for the first half of the day and another task for the second half? Can I set hours inside the specific day?
    (For example: 08:00-12:00 and 12:00-17:00 on the same day)

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Dan. I believe it is possible to have tasks with a duration of hours, instead of days. You'll need to add the number of hours in each task e.g "3h" (3 hours) in the duration column instead of just a number. Here's a post in the community that may be of use: community.smartsheet.com/discussion/37256/duration-by-hours

    Smartsheet template for Gantt chart is a great starting point and your video was very helpful. However, I could use a detail explanation of creating lines and parent-child relationships. Also, copying sections, which I assume is possible. Thank you!

    How can project phases can be visible in Gantt view of portfolio...?

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would suggest you set up a parent/child relationship where phases are the parent. This should then display in the Gantt accordingly.

    Thank you for the very useful demo. I want to get an excel sheet export of my Gantt chart but using the file/export... it does not export the Gantt part, only the columns. Is a way around this?

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad it was helpful! Unfortunately, there is not a way of doing this.

    How do we add these RGB color Dots in status column?

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Anzar. You want to change the column properties. So right click on the column, click the bottom link "edit column properties". From there click "symbols" and then look for the RGB color dots in RAG

    How can I add formulated columns into the ghantt chart.When I add the percentage complete column that has a forumla to it,the smartsheet automatically removes the formula from the cell.

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe this is a limitation, unfortunately. There are many community posts referencing similar examples, e.g.: community.smartsheet.com/discussion/82448/why-cant-gantt-charts-have-a-formula-in-the-start-end-date-columns

    how can i include ahead/behind schedule in the progress numbers. to be more clear, when i say an activity had 30% progress, it does need to show what was the expected progress. in this example, whether the expected progress was 50% and we made 30%, or the expected progress was 20% and we made 30%. i need to show this in my numbers

    • @ProperProjectManagement

      Sounds like you would need a custom if statement formula. help.smartsheet.com/function/if

    Great video, very helpful.
    I am new to SS and building a project to remodel my offices. I don’t understand how the project moves forward by percentage. I have my start / end dates, durations % complete, team members assigned etc…
    I still have some building left but stuck here.
    Thank you

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Stuart! Regarding the percentage - what do you want to know? Sounds like you have all of the other required data though.

      @@ProperProjectManagement I don't know how the assigned people connected to the task move it forward for example. How do they move the progress forward or complete a task?
      I don't expect the entire answer here of course but do you recommend other quick start guides to newbies? I am building from som SS templates (super helpful). Thanks again...

    Can you see a whole of project Gantt chart in Smartsheet even if your project is months or years in duration? Like the 'print preview' view & condensing it all to one page?

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I believe you can. you may need to scroll/adjust your views accordingly, but it should be possible.

    Hi
    This was very helpful! Do you know how to add new tasks? I noticed when you started you had already had all the tasks add on to your Gantt

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, right click on one of the rows on the left hand side of the sheet and click "insert above" or "insert below" depending on what you need.
