Some say ARR music doesn't sound like how it used to be. But 30+ years and he is still able to think out of the box and has some kind of surprise in almost every other song he delivers. He Still sounds fresh and original than any other composer in India. Hatsoff to the maestro
ARR music takes time to grow. It takes atleast 6-7 hearing to discover his gems. People who say that ARR music doesnt sound like before dont have patient to listen it more than 1-2 times.
For example even though I know this fact, when Rockstar came out, my first reaction was that its not that good- but now almost all songs from it are my all time fav. Same was with Sathiya, Guru, PS1,2, and even Chamkila.
It's simple. Rahman makes what movie demands. Infact that's been his whole USP in recent times. PS-I and II music was amazing and complemented movie so much. Back then he was simply trying to put new and good songs into a movie. Trying to fit songs into movies. Now he's getting good at the reverse.

ARR already confessed that he's like a garden, whatever they seed they harvest. He always insists directors to give more inputs. If they don't have a vision then you won't get any.
