I wish I could spend the rest of my lifetime in the presence of people as inspiring and brilliant as the two of you. Thanks so much for this ❤️

This is great, I'm huge fan of existentialism Philosophy Kierkegaards ideas of 'Angst towards his' idea of an individual leap of faith'.
Thank you both for a great event.

Absolute gold for me at 30 minutes +. "Existential philosophy is any philosophy that looks at ontology - the basic givens of human existence, the givens of being, and the givens of the universe, not just in the west but all over the world e.g. the socratics, the stoics, the buddhists, the taoists - they all shared common understandings.
An existentialist is the name given to the thinkers from the 1900s - Sartre, Heidegger, De Bouvoir, Spinoza - very important post-war, but they are also of their time.
We now live in time when we need a Copernican revolution. Copernicus determined that the earth moved around the sun not the sun around the earth, Galileo produced evidence to prove Copernicus wrong. We live in a time when we need another Copernican revolution - just as the earth isn’t the centre of the universe, we humans are not the centre of the world.
We’re currently stuck in an anthropocentric humanist worldview in which we believe we can do with the earth and the universe what we want. That it’s all about competition and consumption and materialism. These things destroy the environment and in so doing ourselves.
Rather than humans being at the centre, maybe the greatest learning of our time is to de-centre ourselves. This has large social and political implications, and it also has implications to our own personal relationships.

Well put, though I’m of the understanding we as human beings are here for only a very short time on a universal level. We are all dust, and this complex cosmic rock will long outlive our existence and carry on its trajectory. Only consciousness is the constant of our transcendence

😂 I totally get it. I tried watching Emily before and I had to turn it off ( or shut her voice out of my being).
This comment made me smile- thank you 🙏🏽 😊

11:17 Yup- I just can’t listen to her anymore. This is me tapping out.😅
I tried to listen but I just find something about Emmy grates on my nerves. Deeply unfair and possibly mean- but I just can’t listen to her without getting triggered.
