very interesting game, specially the opening. Vidit Gujrathi really cose a very opened defense with his pawns pushing...
Sir aapne player ke na alg he or khelane vale alg he please check it
Nah that 55 year old GM was playing damn well!
Hes not just a GM, but a former 2775
Yeah former world championship Challenger
@@Shivam6578and the world's #3 at his peak, years before Gujrathi was even born : )
Gelfand is currently the oldest player within the top rated 100
Playing style of vidit is unique...❤
Boris is making a big difference to the success of the Indian team
Gelfand 2011 candidates champion who faced the then world champion Anand for the world championship in 2012.
and he lost very narrowly, only on tiebreaks.
had he won, he would have become the oldest world champion (at the moment of winning the title) in over half a century (Botvinnik being older back in 1961, and it was possible because Tal was ill).
@@vibovitoldHad he won Anand would not be part of Top 5/10 Greatest players ever because he should not be losing to Gelfand's caliber as Anand was a stronger player
@@sonnyjay1432 that's true overall, however in this particular match Gelfand got close, and it's also true
these truths are not mutually exclusive
it's not always the universally stronger player that wins a match - eg. with all due respect to Kramnik, he wasn't a player of greater calibre than Kasparov when he defeated him in 2000
@@vibovitold Kasparov wasn’t in his prime when he lost but still great achievement and it’s true sometimes a certain style can work against you even tho you’re a stronger player overall
@@sonnyjay1432Kasparov achieved his highest rating ever - and the second highest rating ever recorded, unbeaten for 14 years until surpassed by Carlsen, and nobody but Carlsen - in 1999. the year before.
it was the same year when he played the famous "Kasparov's Immortal", arguably his most dazzling and impressive game.
he won Linares in 1999, 2000 and in 2001 - achieving a performance of 2889 in the last one, with an amazing result of 5 wins, 5 draws and 0 losses. so this was the year after the match.
and you're telling me that in 2000 - when he was rated 75 points higher than the world's #2 (for reference, that's a larger rating gap than there is between Carlsen and #6 right now)... having won Wijk aan Zee Corus with a score of 9.5/13 and not a single loss... etc. etc. - he "wasn't in his prime"??
i'm not sure how to sum it up. that's certainly an interesting way of looking at things
5:12 thank me later
Miss win
