The Monopoly game at McD's started in the States and was exposed as a massive scam by the 3rd party company that ran it, there's a good TH-cam documentary on it.
Fun Fact: Fairbury, Illinois doesn't have a McDonald's franchise since it lost a war against a family owned restaurant, called McDonald's Family Restaurant, that has been in the town since 1956. The owner of this restaurant, at least they were in 2015? Ronald McDonald
Yeah we do the monopoly thing. Turns out it was one big scam. There's a Netflix doc about it. All the big rewards were controlled by one person who gave them to friends and family. Its pretty wild
To be fair it wasn’t a scam by McDonald’s it was one guy in the factory, stealing and then giving the good ones to his friends and family in exchange for half the winnings.
11:30 They do it in Canada too. It’s all done through the McD’s app, which is great compared to having to keep track with that paper monopoly board when I was a kid. But, I won a $250 gift card to a paint shop, redeemed it (even though I would never use it), and they never sent it. Only times I got anything out of it was the “Free *insert menu item* “ tiles.
What makes a good toy for kids is the marketing. Is the toy marketed around something the kids are currently watching? Growing up in the 90s in the US there was always a toy for the latest Disney movie out or animated movie.
I spent some time at Kandahar airfield (AFG) back in the early 2010's. We had a Burger King, Pizza Hut and a Nathan's hotdogs and some other stuff. The military guys loved it.
17:19 you say that….but you forgot the fact that when you tell a kid not to do something, especially a young one, it just makes them want to do it more.
Mechanic here, yeah he's kinda got a point anything german made always has pointless extra steps added into repairs for basically no reason beyond being over engineered 😅😆
It's not the evil trial lawyers who ruin everything with their lawsuits; it's the evil staff lawyers that work for corporations, that dream up stuff the company MIGHT get sued over. Most of this stuff doesn't even start with an actual case.
Im american, and im a ford man personally. But i have to admit that every medium to high-end german vehicle I've seen is very impressive. The germans do have a history of over engineering, which is bad on a massive scale, like a war. The tiger and panzer 3's were better than the Sherman tank, but America made way more shermans and they were good enough to get the job done. However, on a small scale, the german vehicles and war machines are ridiculously awesome and beat out almost every other vehicle in the world on a one to one comparison.
As far as BMWs go: I used to be in car sales in Texas and little known fact the salesman or someone called a porter (valet driver sorta) generally drives the car to to the local gas station to fill it up with gas since they’re usually kept less than a 1/4 tank and anyway I was new car sales but I sold a decked out used BMW 335i or whatever and while leaving the gas station to bring it back to the customer I had to gun it out of the gas station because it was at a major interstate off-ramp near a major intersection and when I let off the gas I heard a loud ass pop and upon inspection turns out the plastic intake manifold decided to grenade itself… I’ve never had a more awkward conversation with a customer but crazy thing is he wasn’t even mad or didn’t seem to be even though we had to order part since we were a VW dealership and the part cost like $600 IRRC and that was 2016 but anyway point is I’ll never buy a BMW, Fiat, Mini Cooper/Cruiser, Smartcar, etc cause I’ve never had a good experience with them from car sales experience and they all have bad reps among car salesmen at least at the dealerships I worked at
When I was a kid McDonald's was awesome. They had big play places in the restaurants with slides, ball pits, and the like. I think they started taking them out because kids started staying too long and apparently homeless people would come in the evenings and climb up the slides and try to spend the night there.
This was great fun. I really have to dig into my memory. But similar story. There was a guy in Sweden with a hot dog cart called McDonald's Hot Dogs. And yeah, Mac's sued and lost that one too.
its hungry jacks here in Australia and they brought out a burger called the "big jack" which replicated the maccas "big mac" it wasnt as good but was absolutely hilarious cos it was the biggest F U to mcdonalds 😂
During the pandemic I was working from home for almost 2 years (1 year and 8 months). Living alone I was isolated. I used UberEats ALOT. I haven’t eaten fast food in a couple of years, so I decided to order 4 days’ worth of McDonalds. Usually Big Macs and Fries. One time I ordered Burger King and I did NOT like it. AT ALL. Went back to ‘Mickey D’s’ and never looked back. Just my personal opinion and experience.
@@brianmather1996 yeah. I don't often eat fast food but I do prefer Wendy's. Not sure if they still have it but they used to have a massive triple or quad bacon burger. It was a heart attack waiting to happen but it was really good.

I heard that BK was going to purchase back a lot of their franchises and resell them after remodeling. They want to improve their image. Between the two, I would pick BK Burgers over McDonalds,..However, for breakfast stuff,, the Egg McMuffin with Sausage is the perfect sandwhich.. they also have probably the best coffee in fast food.. which is saying a lot because at one time they has the worst over heated bitter coffee of anywhere.
Best coffee for burger places, McDonalds then BK and last Wendy's. Over Mickey D's is Dunkin Donuts. I am very very picky about my coffee. Starbucks is good but too expensive for coffee. My granny was born and raised on a coffee plantation, in elementary I and my siblings were having a cup with school snacks when we walked to her house from school.

Burger King has better burgers. McDonalds has better fries. Though they've been cheap bastards lately at least around here so buy a bottle of finely crushed salt and use that on the fries instead of the granulated nonsense.

A somewhat old guy here; I have always been turned off by either bad commercials that waste your life seeing them and negative commercials which can't contribute to an already challenging life. When I was very young Burger King ran negative commercials for years. I decided then that I would never eat there and I never have. It's been over four decades and still going. The funny thing about USA is we have the amount of high level athletes, but the same amount of low gravity house dwellers. It is really hard to get a pulse on what an American is like. Dave for instance, Dave would have been an amazing skater or a druggie depending on who he was with xD I would like to think Dave would be Tony Hawk UK version, I'm joking but the USA skate culture used to be so good. Now it is neutral or negative
First of all, any modern vehicle will suck. They are cheaply made, designed to fail and be traded in, to keep you in revolving debt, very few things are made to last and perform their job anymore. It’s really sad, old Japanese vehicles, great for what they designed for, small amounts of people or small cargo capacity, amazing, reliable with maintenance, will run for ever. Same thing with early VW, or the OG of motor vehicles, Ford this model A and T. Or any other old American brand that ended up sticking around, all of those were amazing vehicles, now, they are all over engineered crap, with way too many problems way too many electronics and in every case, get worse gas mileage than a car designed in the 1960’s and 70’s that used carburetors. But was shut down, too cheap and efficient, reliable the guy who actually came up with the particular engine designs and tweaks/car was assassinated by someone/someones. He’s an American. So more than likely one of the major corporations that was really spreading then. Just like the late 1990’s and very early 2000’s, like before and right after 9/11. Was an Icelandic or maybe Greenland guy that made a car that would just compressed air as the propellant gas to run the pistons…it was very efficient and fairly strong, it’d never replace a big diesel for a tank or train or ship/boat, but wasn’t meant too, as off of a handful of compressed air bottles, to standard 2500 psi, probably like 160-180 bar roughly. It was a great small passenger car for city stuff, out out no pollution as was literally just compressed atmosphere. And could do 800-900km off of the bottles. Mercedes made a diesel electric car the same time frame. Claiming 200mpg in city driving for the US, they actually achieved 195 mpg in stop and go traffic, by using a tiny, powerful and efficient diesel engine to run a generator to power/recharge the car, that put out the lowest amount of any kind of pollution of any engine that burns fuel. And it got cancelled by the EPA/EPA government by basically saying we’ll never buy it. Just like they killed the idea and the guy who made an extremely efficient engine with zero draw backs, that beats the most efficient hybrid in mpg….from 60-70’s ago. Also you do know the US was making heavy use of electric cars and scooters in the early 1900’s? We were among the pioneers, then other super rich Americans found out, mainly Rockefeller, who had previously been dumping all his gas from refineries into the river, as it was a dangerous and dirty fuel, viewed worse than coal by everyone. And ford just got his gasoline engine and car mass production thing going…the rest is history, we almost skipped completely over gasoline, except as a dangerous, but convienent fuel at times, like aircraft, and other high performance things of early technological days.
In UK you guys talk of all the engines from around the world, trust the US engine. It works. Its easy to fix. It outlasts all international competition. If you buy a car and its not USA or Japan, you're literally ripping yourself off. I'm American and bought a Chevy Cruze personally, not my choice but okay.
