- Hey guys!
Just dropping in a quick video to show everyone how I get Linus ready for the day. Also sharing the really simple fleece coverings that are literally just anti-pill fleece and lanyard hooks; it really doesn't get any easier and protects the wood from urine. I recommend using a sanding block to try to remove any urine damage to wooden shelves that have already been stained!
(The chins get to play while I clean up the cage, but they also get playtime in the evenings!)

@4:45 THANK YOU! I've looked and looked for my chin's noise everywhere! I thought it sounded like grumbling/complaining, just by it's sound, but I wasn't sure. My chinchilla has made a total of three noises since I've had him. This one is the most used when he's irritated with me. Second in the list is his (I call them) his "nightmare noises." He only does this when he's sleeping 🤷🏼 and he often wakes himself up with them! And once, one time, he barked at my girl rats because they wanted to play, and he was NOT about it. He thought they wanted to hurt him, but they didn't. He's soooooo quiet that for the first 3 months he made NO noise and I thought he was broken. I still do not try to hold him. He lives in my entire room and chews everything to bits. Hops on my face at night, hops on the dog! My dogs LOVE him soooooo much it's hilarious. He's a spoiled spoiled chin.

Why do you use an incredibly loud shop vac for the cage? That must absolutely terrify them :(
How do you even use the apen chips? My Chin literally had a reaction to them and our vet didn't even recommend them to be used. She recommended carefresh bedding. Ever since the change and treatment, he got much better. We had to use wipes and a lotion solution as treatment.

Looks like aspen shavings. I use a mix of that and paper bedding for a pee bowl in my chin's play area.
BtW: Are there any new Episodes of Your Chinchilla Care Series in the Making? I would love to see more of Them, since there aren't a lot of trusty Quality Informations available here on TH-cam (or even other Platforms). 😁

Same reason you like it! It's soft, and provides a change up in textures.
@@ksturn6664 What if a Chinchilla chews on the fleece? I guess it would be harmful to their digestive system like plastic etc. And in summer, isn't fleece to warm for them? I was told they like cooler places to cool down... I might be wrong.
@@MiyakoAkina My boi has never chewed his fleece. They won't cover up with it, bcuz it fits tightly. Plus, ideally you will be keeping chin in a slightly cool location. So fleece is never too warm.🐹
It makes me sad that people used to kill them for their fur and make coats out of it..I had never seen a chinchilla up close before and they are adorable..how anyone could kill them is beyond me.
