    All are good suggestions. I couldn't imagine not having a bucket with a lanyard. It's also good not to underestimate having fun things like paddleboards which make it easy to get off the boat and combats feelings of claustrophobia. I just bought an oil lamp which I'm hoping will take the edge off the cool winter weather here in Australia and provide a warm glow in the evening. I would also probably add fishing gear to your list as it combines both nutrition and entertainment.

    A while back I saw a video about building shelters/tents. One of the tips to keeping the temperatures down under a shelter/tent was to have two lawyers for a roof with a gap of about a foot between the layers. The sun heats up the top layer and doesn't really make it through the second. Don't know if this would help with just a covering like the one you all use but with some free time it might be worth checking out.

      Any sort of shade or covering definitely helps, we never got around to it, but some cruisers have some very sophisticated shade coverings made for their boats. That, or insulation like we added in Makara helps a lot!

    • @KollinsPlays
      @KollinsPlays 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That works well in a fixed location because it creates an insulating section of air between the layers. On a moving boat, you won't get that, so it's more about shade from the sun.

    Thanks, that was good. So the ascender bits and pieces to get, yes. Watching the bucket clothes washing I was wondering if someone has done a wave action washing machine yet. Towing behind works I know, but maybe a well thought out bag, some bungees and a sea anchor gizmo, or even a bucket with a rubber diaghram bottom might make for easier more frequent washing. Some research first.

    Speedy Stitcher is a very useful and old school tool. Definitely not "speedy" though.

      @@AdventureAdriftSailing It's a long shot, but if I buy the car in Tacoma, I can meet you there and drop 1 off. It will look like amateur hour compared to Hillary's Dad's work, but good enough for fish guts :-)
      Also in talks to buy a 26ft Water Ballast Swing Keel.....we'll see what happens. ...

    You guys should have lots more subscribers. Maybe need to hook up with some other TH-camrs to promote your channels. Buena suerte!👍✌️😊🙏🏼⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️

    • @AdventureAdriftSailing
      @AdventureAdriftSailing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aww, thanks!! We would love to hook up with some other TH-camrs, and we were trying when we were down south, but there were just not many boats in general around, let alone TH-camrs, in the areas that we were cruising, especially compared to places like the Caribbean.

    • @tomas5376
      @tomas5376 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Adventure Adrift maybe think about interviewing some other cruisers about their favorite anchorages or tips or how they’re coping with the pandemic. Be creative in the hope that cruisers with many more subscribers will help promote your channel.👍✌️😊🙏🏼⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️

    • @budawang77
      @budawang77 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tomas5376 That's a great suggestion. Some TH-camrs like Follow The Boat are interviewing other cruisers plus adding their own perspective.

    • @budawang77
      @budawang77 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most power dinghies have oars as well, so you just have to use them sometimes instead of always motoring. I often can't be bothered installing the outboard when it's a short distance to shore.
