Nice comparo! Keep it up. Hope you can share the service or PMS interval of these vehicles. Buyers need to consider the cost of ownership when buying a new SUV/PPV. :)
there's a reason why sales of the everest got really big last year. even beating the fortuner in September. That's a big win considering Philippines is a TOYOTA country.
Owned 3 of the brands mentioned. If these SUV’s were females, I would compare: Toyota to an average looking girl in terms of looks but wife material because of reliability. Household chores, maasahan ganun. Ford a 9 sa looks and 10 sa performance pero high maintenance (laging imported ang gusto) and topakin, lagi kang aawayin kahit wlang dahilan. Pero tatagal kayo as long as u put in effort. Montero kinda best of both pero di mo maexplain lilingon ka pa rin sa iba during the relationship. Bonus: Mux, maganda pero maingay so d ka na magbother manligaw. Haha But that’s the beauty of cars, u dont have to marry them forever, each has their own set of pros and cons. Buy and try pag may budget but dont hate on the other brands. Thank you Jaywalkur for this insightful video. Currently a Toyota owner here but strongly considering Ford (again) after seeing this. If they hold up their deal on the 5 year warranty I might reconsider stepping in a Ford casa again.😂
Thanks sa video idol... planning to buy ford Everest trend after watching your reviews... My worry is the maintenance of ford Everest..is it true that it's very expensive..ford Everest is only for the wealthy....and it's disposable after 3-4 years... Any thoughts about here sir jay...please enlighten me ..
The roundup for Titos, sakto pa ung ad pang Tito din haha. Im guessing the best high end 4x2 also goes to the Montero since the Everest Titanium 4x2 is neutered compared to the 4x4? Still waiting for that Everest Wildtrak
Reliability reputation. Ford has a maligned reputation, but it goes to their discontinued cars (Fiesta, Focus, etc), Ecosport, Explorer, etc. However, when it comes to the PPV and pickup segment (and the Mustang), they are on a different level. Toyota has awesome reliability, sure, but that isn't everything.
Man, I love Toyota but the Everest is on another level. I hope they eat up fortuner sales. Toyota has been slacking long enough, they need to wake up. American Toyota vehicles have all if not most of Ford's bells and whistles for years now yet they only took advantage of the Toyota badge here in the Asian market.
Only time can & will tell about that so called "reliability" dude, stop using that word. Driving experience is the most precious thing to consider when you have enough money to buy a PPV every 5-10 years.

I really want to buy SUV this year but I don't know I should go now and buy Everest or to wait a little for new (probably better) Fortuner? I think Ford's are not really that reliable. They are urban SUV's and for status symbol and not as tough for off road. I have personally been on 2 Ford raptors that stopped running in the middle of a trail. First is when we were crossing a river and was surveying an area. The water is not that high though but because of a little bit of force, it drowned the engine and killed it. We moved to a land cruiser thats literally had its hood under water and was still running. The damage to the Ford was a whooping Php 700k worth of repair. The other one was flood. The water was just below my waist (im 5,7,) and it just stopped because water got into it. Damage was Php500k. :D Those who have Fords here, try running your ford in offroad in tough condition, lets see how far it goes. Toyota and Isuzu's are the toughest vehicles we use as we survey rough and extreme area's and conditions.
on the review of cargo space what does a automatic rear door got to do with the space? also while I do agree with the cumbersome 3rd row seat stowing position of the fortuner it does also have it's merit, it may have a higher floor to roof clearances due to its design.

One day, some company would make a pickup truck and SUV that's the mixture of toyota reliability, and ford comfort and tech. and is at the reasonable price
Don't insult the channel because you don't like the results. Its only logical the newest PPVs and trucks are going to win these things because they are simply more advanced. Don't worry, Toyota will come out with new gen model next year or so and likely take the crown back. As for Ford's reliability, probably not as strong as Toyota overall, but not bad either, plenty of old Ford trucks and SUVs I see on the road driving along just fine by drivers who probably don't have a lot of mechanical sympathy.
Again, another expected win, as the Everest has been the media darling for 2023. Too many people crying about reliability who don't actually have any data to back it up except some sort of anecdotal story. Look, everyone is pretty reliable these days, Toyota fanboys just need to relax and wait until the next gen Toyota comes out. Admit your PPV is dated, harsh riding, low tech, stupid cargo 3rd row. That's how you get better. With the recent wins in both reviews and sales for Ford, I'm sure that Toyota is going all out on the next Hilux & Fortuner.
All those SUVs will have the same or even better tech as Ford Everest if the price is the same. The price should have a big deduction at the overall points as it’s the only reason why all the other brands have less tech. Because the price affects many areas of your criteria (driving comfort, tech, interior & exterior design)
I test drove the Fortuner when I was looking for a new 4x4 SUV. I have to say it was a big let down. I didn't care that it's a Toyota blah blah blah. It was small inside the the interior was cheap and the ride was rough and the engine was gutless. Ended up with an Everest. This was back in 2017 and my Everest now has over 150k on the OD still going strong and feels great to drive.
