On the second to last turn, to maximize the cornering speed you had to go into 8th gear and then down shift to take the turn. You keeping it in 7th gear might give room to your opponent to pass you in the straight coming up ahead because he is coming quicker and reading you quicker in order to catch up to you.

Well, Brendon has done Race of Champions and even made his Formula Ford debut last weekend... but we’re focused on his role in our eSports plans rather than trying to make him into a real world racer! He’s a champion gamer and training hard to improve even further in his field of expertise!

@@MercedesAMGF1 How about they race first in the F1 game, then, just to make it fair to Lewis and Valtteri (and super awesome for Brendon), on the team simulator!
Can someone explain to me why teams need a reserve driver ? Why dont they use the actual pros competing in the races to do the testing, sims, and course practice?
The simulator guys are on the sim at the same time the car is running on track, giving feedback in real time, but the reserve drive is more of a marketing thing, doesn't mean much I think.
I bet, if you stick this kid in a real F1 car, he'd be fast you know. Learning driving from this direction gives a different mindset to racing. In real life you learn per race. Esports drivers can practice all day everyday. Stick em in a real car, they wouldn't have to learn much to start racing for real because they've probably learnt all the essential skills needed for Grand Prix racing in Turbo hybrid formula 1 cars. He'd sure have to learn a lot about the physical sides of racing, g-force and overtaking etiquette for example. But I'm sure you could crash course all of that that though right? I feel like I could haha Formula 1 doesn't look all too difficult these days 🚀 ------ Also: Think about this also; look at Max Verstappen for example, 21 years old, incredibly young. His brain isn't even fully developed yet lol ....but yet absolutely crushing it. Absolutely fantastic, one of the best on the grid by miles. However, he's one of the only drivers other than Lando Norris, from what I can see, that races frequently in the Esports community, not in the official esports championships but he's involved in sim racing a lot and often competes online. I bet he gets a tonne more practice than the other drivers doing that. I'm curious to hear Max Verstappens opinions on the differences in Sim Racing F1 and real F1!
Good thing I couldn't hear the dreary engine sound in this clip (I speak for the whole grid of F1 cars, Mercedes, I'm not picking on your engines specifically, honest I'm not). Hardly - we’ve invested significantly to make the most powerful race engines in F1 history that keep the sport relevant for the future and delivering useful learning to the real world. They are measurably and appreciably louder than they were in 2014 as power outputs have risen year on year. The V12 and V10 eras were awesome - but they belong to the past in every series now and this is the 14th season since a V10 last raced.
