Well done for persevering with the camera, mine sits on the shelf above my desk. It was fun to build but I didn't have your determination to hunt down all those light leaks and make it workable. After seeing the great images you got maybe I should revisit it in the future. Well done.
Hi Chris another interesting video it was good to with persevering you got the camera sorted and some very good images as usual looking forward to your next video keep up the good video channel dave
Thanks Dave, it was great to finally get some good results with this camera and one I will definately use again. Thanks for watching and commenting, next video will be released in 2 weeks time 😀 as per the norm of late.
This is good but we still don't know where those light leaks come from. I would like to know if only hiding the bottom lens would do the trick. I'm realy tempted to buy one just to convert it to half frame camera but with all those leaks it seems like a very discouraging project.
It's not just covering up the lens, I explained what I did to cure the problem at 2:12 onwards with some b-roll. It's a tight space so not sure how I could of highlighted it any better? Thanks for the positive comments.
Sorry I didn't meant that you didn't explained it well enough. You explained it very well and you highlighted it perfectly in the video. It's just that after watching your "vs holga" video and this one it feels like the camera need to be taped everywhere to work properly. I've also watched the video of the shutter made by Matt Gibson and it look like the arm hiding the hole have a lot of slack. Your video is documented very well and it actually made me buy a lomo blackbird fly instead of this kit because I don't want to deal with light leaks for now, I just want an easy to convert half frame toy camera.
very good Chris for persevering with it to get to the bottom of the problem.
Thanks 😀

Thank you Andrew, it's definitely worth persevering with, just need to work on focusing it next time if that's at all possible 😉
