Thoroughly enjoyed your whole experience, you all explain pitfalls etc so well.Pleased you arrived home safe and well. Both take care, look forward to future videos. Johnxx
You commented on the lack of passengers, unfortunately their are still a lot of memories of the way P&O dismissed its crews the other year, so people are not using them because of that. Not so sure on the longevity of these new ferries as there have been numerous niggling problems.
Yet another exciting vlog, I like the way you explain everything about motor homes , the way to adjust, and explain to Swift how to update some of their vans. Thank you for the Insight. Glad your back safe.😘
You are absolutely correct there has been quite a number of wet belt failures on Ford transits even with regular oil changes . That is why they converted the ecotec fiesta engines to chain drive. Ford are recalling cars in US but not UK?
Hi Lyndsey You asked about what route would we take back from Poggibonsi is as follows. Poggibonsi to Lido de Jesolo and visit Venice, Murano and Burano via the public water buses. Then onto Portogruaro with its famous leaning bell tower, the onto the Family & Wellness Resort in Pozza do Fassa in the Italian Dolomites then onto the Mountain resort of Malbun in Liechtenstein and get your passports stamped then a free overnight stop by the Rhine at Karlsruhe in Germany followed by a farm aire stop at Alveringham in Belgium before a ferry back to Dover from Zeebrugge. We actually did this trip last year but in reverse so we know it works. Maybe an alternative if you do it again?
22.13 Loved this series. The thing we wouldn't want to bring back from Poggibonsi is a half leg plaster cast and crutches, which happened to me in Poggibonsi in 2021! 😂
We have a transit custom that we had converted to a campervan, and before we collected it the wet belt failed, required an engine rebuild, over 4K of work! Therefore yes, I would avoid if possible! Advised to change oil every 10k now
Those Wet Belt engines are certainly gaining a notoriety. Not only do they need frequent oil changes but the exact spec oil must be used otherwise apparently it causes the belt to break up with the resulting debris blocking the filter causing oil starvation and engine failure!
I was just about to post a comment regarding the Ford 'wet belt' scandal. It appears to effect mainly Transits but other models have been mentioned also that runs the timing belt through oil.
@@alarmactionukalarmactionuk893 yes we actually have a C3 air cross as well that need the timing belt changing as was breaking up in the oil, luckily got to it before it caused the engine to seize!
Excellent blog😊 don’t need to tell you keep them coming Lindsay or Stev bit of advice please I’ve got a 894. Hope to God that you and myself do not break down because it’s a 9 m vehicle. Who are you with on breakdown? I am having trouble getting it with AA, the weight thanks Phil and Sharon in Macclesfield Cheshire. Take care enjoy❤
Were you booked on as freight ? if you were you will have missed out on being able to go to the drivers area which offers all drivers and accompanying passengers free food and drink .
Yes Gary is correct. As soon as I saw the boarding tickets I was expecting to see you guys having breakfast in the truckers lounge. The lorry’s subsidise the car prices so they keep the weekly regulars happy so we don’t complain to our bosses and then switch the whole fleet to another ferry operator. Better luck next year 😂
I enjoyed these vlogs, very informative, and a good scheme if it fits in with your plans. Looking forward to your next trip, in the WV maybe, without the boys? Jo in France 🇫🇷
You seemed to ‘cope’ with ‘downsizing’ slightly. The practical ‘likes’ and ‘dislikes’ were well explained Another interesting video I look forward to your next ‘adventure’ wherever it may be 👍 👍 👍 ❤️❤️❤️🌼🌼🌼🏴🏴🏴
Making a bit of a meal of those blinds. I used them on a rental a couple of years ago they aren't that bad. Although I agree storing them were a pain .
@@RoamingRadfords Where do you get the ones you pull across as I have those that you were using, there ok but wondered what internal blinds you mentioned
We never wanted beds that make you climb over to get out. We have permanent rear singles over the garage that can be one big king size if you want. We keep it as singles as either of us can get out without disturbing the other. Mind you we have 2 people in a 7.5 metre van so it's much easier than accommodating 5!
We’re off to Italy in June, from Northumberland run down to Folkestone over on the shuttle and then about a hour to an áire, then we’ve got 2.5 days to take a slow run to Lake Garda (one overnight has to be your recommendation of Furka pass) five nights at Camping Fornella then 4 nights on lake Como, then another slow 5 days back to the shuttle and a weekend at Camper Jam. We both love watching your videos you have given us lots of inspiration, Morocco is on our bucket list, but we’ve also got a idea to visit Norway, any chance you might do that as an expedition?
I assume you were on the Pioneer or Liberte (similar ships) You didn't comment, knowing your love of electric vehicles, that the ship is a hybrid using electric power when possible. There are a number of charging points on the car deck , Missed the earler video and wondered why you weren't in your own van. Interesting series as usual.
Re the fridge. Our van has the same make and design but ours is the 3 way. We carry expensive injections in ours, 200e each. A compressar fridge would be a disaster. Now we have 3 options. If the fridge developed an issue you can be sure 1 would work. People that carry medicine keep that in mind. Now Steve I have mentioned before this fridge has always kept the temperature correct. Never an issue. We live in Spain and are out in the summer. We know how hot it gets. What we did notice that when your original fridge was taken out the correct air gaps were not there. The correct air movement is important. That would account for your issues. Back to your trip its been good fun. Take care.
I’m afraid every 3 way fridge in the last 5 motorhomes have all failed in the high summer temperatures of southern Europe so we simply have no faith in 3 way fridges anymore as even the manufacturers only guarantee them to work at ambient temperatures of up to 30 degrees, so we have 2 compressor fridges now and they’ve been perfect, even in the 48 degree Morocco heat, so if one was to fail we still have a back up to keep the wine cool. 😎 I mean any medicines that need refrigerating 😉
Really enjoyed these Justgo episodes, thanks for sharing. Just to let you know that we have a three way fridge in our MH, France last year in the heat wave absolutely had NO problem keeping everything cool or frozen.
you where routed at calais as freight hence lorries and the xray . Your tickets said routmaster i think i saw so you could have got a free meal in the drivers canteen i would have thought
Used to race in Europe in the 90's and travelled as freight, you used to get tickets to the drivers lounge where you use to get free food. You could see the lorry drivers gorging on food so they didn't have to buy too much food whilst on the road.
Really enjoyed this trip with you all.your both great at what you do.so happy to be with you on all your trips looking forward to the next.🚍

Making a bit of a meal of those blinds. I used them on a rental a couple of years ago they aren't that bad. Although I agree storing them were a pain .
If you use the ones you just pull across in seconds you’d understand what a pain in the arse they are to put up and take down and store everyday.
@@RoamingRadfords Where do you get the ones you pull across as I have those that you were using, there ok but wondered what internal blinds you mentioned
There are a few companies that make them, just search on Remis Front Blinds

Sounds like you have some fantastic plans Edwin. We do need to spend more time in Norway, we’ve only really dipped our toes!

Didn’t you have routemasters tickets? That gives you access to the commercial drivers lounge/restaurant!
Ah man! We missed that!
Yes I loved it too .... x
the biggest problem with the wet belts is the wrong oil being used when being serviced
That’s interesting xx
Oil or no oil it’s a stupid design and costly service item. Why then US recall but not UK and conversion to chain.
good vid on your travel trip
Thanks Lee x

Doesn’t help when some designs end up blocking the external vents when the habitation door is open. Seen that a few times.

travelling with teenage children...I feel your pain:)
Very disappointed you used P&O ferries after the way they treated their crew.
As explained in the video, it was pre booked and pre paid by JustGo as part of the £19 per day deal.

Not free but it’s discounted
Argh, we missed that trick!
A great video and I would love a van like that and I am all alone so it would be like a palace for me. I also love driving Ford vehicles.

I enjoyed watching the Video. Your Swift Kon-Tiki Is the best Motorhome 😊

A camper van at this present time will retain 70% of its initial purchase price so that’s better than most vehicles
Definitely!
Have a feel, and let me know what you think 😂😂😂😂
But then you have the 2 grand deposit
Have you found the prices have gone up in Paris? Parisians are fed up with the way the prices have gone up before the Olympics
It’s 10 years since we were last there, so yes prices have gone up. I’m not sure it’s more than anywhere else though 🤷🏼♀️
So jealous of you having your wife to share the driving load. 😢
☺️
