I had a Silver 1997 Mitsubishi Diamante LS back in 1999 while a sophomore in high school. Lemme tell you, everyone thought it was the coolest car back then 🤣 was a lot of fun
I just spent the whole day driving one of these things and I must say that they are surprisingly quick lol. Apparently it's got over 200 hp, and judging by the way it drives I wouldn't doubt it.
That's the first thing all my friends and family noticed whenever they went behind the wheel. I had mine for 10 years and loved it. Nobody really knew about about these cars which I seem to enjoy when explaining to people what the heck it was lol
@@fourdoors88 My '03 Diamante has got to be the best first car-even after 250k miles it is leagues above any piece of shit domestic-made car.A domestic car just can't match the Diamante's build quality.
My first car I’ve ever owned, mine was the same 1997 same color, w cd changer in the trunk. I put a cold air intake on mine with eibach springs and I was running with the German cars.
I did my friend bought two from the auction they were around the same year as the diamanté (97/98). On was stock and the other had some modifications (headers) if I remembered correctly. I ran circles around the stock, but the modified one would beat me at launch. I had him on the corners though, my stock diamanté suspension was already tight and with the eibach springs and upgraded sway bar bushings and links I could do turns at any speed I wanted with pretty much 0 body roll.
@@MY-pj8cd oh ok so basically the only reason one of the maximas your friend had won was because it was modified but stock vs stock the diamante was faster than same year Maxima. And asked because I was thinking about finding a 1999/2000 model and was curious if they might would run with modern maximas 2012 and up since Mitsubishi put 3.5 v6 in diamante
Not worth getting fixed up, engine needs a complete inspection and interior has been abused... These cars were better in early 2000's when they got bigger & more features...

This was my first car, got it from my dad. I really liked it, but I got hit by a drunk driver one night and they totaled it.

I do believe that some Diamantes did have power passenger seats though I'm not sure which year it was available.
