That back of the park area around Cobra is a great demonstration of what the park used to be before Peppa pig. And it’s a really good demonstration of what a lot of UK amusements were/are like before they gain serious theming. It’s what Alton towers was like before Nemesis. It’s what Thorpe was like before Colossus. And it’s honestly what Oakwood and lightwater valley still are since they never got that success story.
Light water valley was a great park. had the longest coaster in the world. We organised a coach trip every year. Alton towers bragged about 80 rides and attractions in 360 acres. Merlin sold land and rides to help pay for new rides and they now Bragg about over 40 but half of those are in cbbs for under 5’s. Themeing isnt everything
Paultons was always a childhood park for me, and I'm glad you enjoyed your time there! I've been itching to go back for the past few years, since all that expansion they've done has honestly made me more interested than ever to go back; its definitely a park to keep an eye on, and I can't lie, those options of an Intamin straddle coaster or a Vekoma coaster like Fonix would work really well not just for the park, but on a nationwide scale. We've been lacking those sorts of rides in the UK, so to see those sort of additions (especially since I live relatively local to the place) would definitely make it a must-do!
This is my local "large park" to see it change from what was Cobra style to Tonardo Springs is insane to watch, the levels of theme has been far above any other UK park. The family really care, every time we go painting, planting or other touch ups are always on going. A real pleasure park to visit.
The land Cobra is in is listed as a country park by the council, and there was a somewhat legal battle as to whether the park would have to relocate Cobra to another area of the park, which is why they can’t theme that part.
Paultons is my local park and I've grew up with it. Pepper pig world opened when I was too old to enjoy it so I remember the park before the theming, though we did visit in September and loved all the new stuff. Some fun facts for you: Cobra is a unique ride, no other gerstlauer bob has that layout! Speaking of that area, Paultons didn't have quite the right kind of planning permission for Cobra or Edge when they were built. The council allowed the rides to stay but I think this is why that section is underdeveloped. As an autistic I like the quite space without music or busy visuals but agree it could do with some love!! Ever since I was little the landscaping and topiary have been exceptional. As well as the birds there used to be "dinosaur walk" which was a boardwalk through the woods with Dino statues and roaring sounds. As I got older I started playing the game "spot the speaker" as we went through but I always insisted we saw it! This is why when they themed up Lost Kingdom they made it dinosaur themed as a homage. The animatronics that are there now are amazing and genuinely blew me away when I saw them in September! Speaking of Lost Kingdom, as adorable as Dino Chase is, it used to be called The Flying Frog and the front of the train had a very dapper frog tipping his top hat on it. I miss him. My favourite ride at the park as a kid was Stinger, now Cat-o-pillar! (nowadays it's Cobra) It had a googlyeyed caterpillar/bug/thing on the front and the antenne were made of springs so they wobbled as you went around the layout. The building inside critter creek with the aquarium in used to be Wind in the Willows and was a walkthrough attraction with animatronic characters. This was early 2000s and they were... not great. Still, I loved it because I love frogs and therefore wanted to see Mr. Toad. Finally, (as this is getting long) I wanna talk about dragon roundabout for a second. This ride was not built last year, though noone will blame you for thinking that it was. It was actually installed in 2001 and is the only one of its kind to have that colour scheme. All the others are blue! This ride is loved by kids, hated by parents and has always looked beautiful. I and many other locals would be very sad if it was ever removed. Love the video!
God, The Flying Frog and the Stinger are a throwback! I grew up with the park too! I remember when Edge opened and I was gutted that I couldn't go on it alone like Kobra at Chessington. It's good to see the park getting some recognition and I love how much it grew but I do miss little 7 year old me going on Cobra and thinking Rollercoasters couldn't get better than that.
this park has the best theming in the UK, despite being owned by a single family and not a multi million dollar international company, quite hilarious really
Hey long term Pualtons park fan, the staff you saw working in the gardens they are hired to do that all year round! Just so you know if you have any questions ask away in the replies c:
I am from the UK and i dont really know much about Paultons Park, I was Going to Southhampton for a Completely Unrelated Reason and decided to Go and i had a Fantastic Time, I Would Say Paultons is in my Top 3 Parks, Amazing Place
Wow what a cool park this is awesome . Um me and my family been to knot's berry farm it was fun our first time going my favorite ride so far was the Jag wore ride very fun ☺️. Have a good day or night were ever you guys are.
I'm pretty sure this would have been the first theme park i ever went to, and while it's definitely aimed at a younger audience it will always have a nostalgic charm to it, at least for me
I only live 25 miles from here and used to go regularly as a kid. This was before most of the coasters were put in. Then as a teen my attention shifted more to Thorpe and Chessington. Now I've got family of my own I'll have to go back sometime.
Rides good, staff good, parkland and appearance good, food good, theming it’s really really good, they just need to, Re- do that area around cobra and build a big trebuchet Vekoma launch or a vertical launch intermin or something maybe a nice ground up hyper hybrid. Wonderful place
I love hearing about these unique family owned parks. I’ll likely never get to visit, but if I make the trip to UK for the big boys I’ll make sure to stop off here!
Great video - I’ve only recently discovered the park because I have kids and they like Pepper Pig. Grew up with Chessington and have seen Thorpe Park have its glow up. Looks like you picked a great day weather wise!
If you're visiting these parks yourselves you should think about reviewing the food options each park has , food reviews always bring in huge view counts. You could become like 'Ordinary Adventures' channel but you actually go on and review all the rides as well.
I have been going to paultons for over 10 years. It is in the new forest, so I heavily doubt they are going to be adding any massive thrill rides as they struggle to add rides. I remember the previous attractions where lost kingdom now is and it definitely wasn't anytjing massive.
One time before pepper pig world was added me and my dad went to paultons. The whole time we were there we only saw one other family. I couldn't ride cobra yet so we just marathons stinger (now cat o pillar) for most of the day. Probably why I became an enthusiast. Also I think the reason the cobra area gets neglected is it used to be the main area before pepper pig world so I think they thought it would hold up OK without any theme for now.
If you play this review at x1.5 speed this park is a real thriller! But seriously this park looks fantastic and fun and I would love it even if I wasn't a kid or had kids.
When I was at paultons park, we were walking past the sign about the dark ride and my dad heard the workers there, say “ghost train” which could mean smth idk
Wow, if they weren't down on the other side of the country I'd definitely check them out. Nice they got a break from peppa pig. Looks like they are making a good few millions and no dodgy offshoring either, good stuff and they should have the budget to reinvest :)
No, it gets overlooked because they have NO thrill rides. Also I HATE the term ‘FAMILY park’, it’s not a FAMILY park is it!? There’s NOTHING for adults, It’s a KIDS park, LITERALLY. AND Honestly, you’re praising it for feeling and looking residential!? That’s an absolutely bizarre flex. Also, ALL you enthusiasts need to stop being so obsessed with nature in the parks. Otherwise, may I suggest you actually prefer Zoos and not theme parks…
@@CoasterStudios Ah I’ve seen it 😅 and I couldn’t disagree more. Here are my counter arguments: Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the lowest attended of all the Disney parks in Orlando, and even does less numbers than the Universal parks… The most successful theme park expansion ever is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and its almost completely devoid of any nature… It literally made Universal a direct competitor to Disney in shares, when prior they were miles off! And while I can’t prove it, I think we both know the next great expansion draw will be Nintendo Land in Universals Epic Adventure - again, totally devoid of nature… Nature isn’t the key, faithful quality theming and unique and compelling attractions are! I do find it amazing that this opinion is actually controversial in the theme park community.

Agree and it needs desperately to put a nice big exciting something on that massive rectangle of grass. Intamin vertical launch?
@@Jondoe18702 Or UK's first RMC, they have the space!
@@Jondoe18702they had noise complaints when Edge opened so I doubt you'll see much getting built that end of the park
That’s a shame. Complaints plural?

Even though it isn't the closest park to me, I still consider Paulton's to be my home park since I go every year and absolutely love the place!
Same!
The area that houses Cobra and Edge is next on the agenda for expansion and themeing afaik.
The land Cobra is in is listed as a country park by the council, and there was a somewhat legal battle as to whether the park would have to relocate Cobra to another area of the park, which is why they can’t theme that part.
NOT ANYMORE! it is now being used for a future 2026 vikings land development so they now have acces to retheme it
Wow. It’s not like there’s an enormous amount of parks here in the UK, and yet somehow I’ve never heard of this place.
Looks very charming though.

Never heard of this place! It looks adorable!
It’s normally quite quiet even at weekends, love this park! 😆😆
Love Paulton's Park. A mini Gravity Group we think would be an amazing fit or a Gerstlauer Euro Fighter to test more of the thrill market.

Best themed theme park in the UK! Overlooked by many including myself, I visit once or twice a year

You know if kolmaarden can have one …. Etc
Best day in the world when Eltororyan and Coaster Studios post a video at the same time
Yep completely agree with you Taylor, such a nice park and lovely to just walk around and take in the views.
A must visit for anyone who hasn’t been ❤

And also ex prime minister boris johnson went on a tangent about peppa pig world during a speech when he lost his script and it is an iconic momsnt
Looks like a great, underrated park

Cobra is still a good ride but the area it’s in is just in need of a makeover
I live in Southampton so Paultons Park is not too far from me! I go there every year and i love it! ❤
My home park, they don't do discounted entry but the quality of the park and rides makes it worth the price, my kids (all under 12) love it
as someone who used to live near this theme park, I've never even heard of it!! It looks like such a nice little park!
You know what? Storm Chaser is a really great name for a coaster. I hope other parks are taking note
Yeah. I also like Velociraptor.
Some other park will probably make a dumb knock-off. Maybe they'll call it "VelociCoaster" or something.
Not sure if you knew Tornado springs or “ route 83 “
83 is the year the park opened. A little hidden Easter egg which is cool 🎉
We NEED a Daddy Pig Coaster clone
Where is the intro? Great review 👍

maybe not massive but they were hinting a 2026 thrill ride maybe is coming in that plot themed to vikings
Do you guys know Sarah is in the Pleasure Beach Resort (Blackpool) advert, it ran for me before this video
Yes she is!

I actually really like the new sign and branding, its really clean and slik compared to the previous logo
Definitely a more family park buy if they added something bigger like a Vekoma Wildcat or Bermuda Blitz would maje it better for more audience.

They’re getting an RMC 👀
big up southampton, best theme park on the coast. well in
Wow, if they weren't down on the other side of the country I'd definitely check them out. Nice they got a break from peppa pig. Looks like they are making a good few millions and no dodgy offshoring either, good stuff and they should have the budget to reinvest :)
It also has some excellent food outlets, with quality food and variety not your usual Burger and Chicken trash junk that most theme parks have.
Doubling attendance from that one area is crazy. How good of an area was it?
Peppa pig is loved by basically 99.9 percent of young UK kids so I am not surprised
My local and it is 100% visiting. Has the UK’s best themed land
Haven't Been To This Park Since 2019!
For a moment, I thought this was a Merlin park because of the Peppe Pig theming.
If they do add a coaster they should make it an indoor one I mean it’s the Uk it rains 90% of the time
If it has Peppa Pig then count me in
they’re building a viking area near cobra i’m assuming that they’re gonna theme cobra into the viking area
Sorry man but Sierra sidewinder as far as I'm aware is a clone of storm chaser not the other way around
I went on a bank holiday and it was still so quiet
I got jumpscard there was no intro
Gonna have to get used to the lack of intro lol.
They allready filed a permit request for a Intamin water coaster.
Great park
That park is only known for Andrew Sealey being arrested there
What happened to the intro?? 😭
Rip intro
Wow. Adding Peppa Pig doubled the park attendance. It’s amazing how much branding can affect theme parks.
It can both make or break a park, get it wrong and it can be a costly mistake

They should make drug land where you can do all the drugs and ride kiddy rides 🤣
Omg, Disneyland is so much better than this.
Disneyland has millions of more visitors and a way bigger budget
