  • This is an excerpt from "KTLA at 40", an anniversary show for the Los Angeles television station KTLA that was broadcast in 1987. This piece includes footage and interviews with Engineer Bill, Skipper Frank, Pinto Colvig, Sheriff John, Tom Hatten, Iron Eyes Cody, Daws Butler, and many others from various Los Angeles TV stations. Also footage of The Doors, Lloyd Thaxton, Casey Kasem and Art Laboe.

    God Bless all of you.Just watched this today for the first time.! I grew up in Pittsburgh area and these programs made children's lives very special. Because we believed in these people and the programs. MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND THANK YOU.

    I recall some of these growing up in L.A. in the mid-50s, especially Engineer Bill, Tom Hatten, Skipper Frank and Sheriff John. Wonderful memories of nearly forgot shows.

    I watched this in 1987 when KTLA Channel 5 had their 40th anniversary it's great to see it again love the early Los Angeles TV history cuz I lived in Anaheim for 20 years.

    NICE TO SEE THE OLD SHOWS - There are very few comments here because... The people that watched these shows are either dead or are too old to know how to use a computer. Sad, but True.

    I thoroughly enjoyed watching this . It's enlightening telling and showing me about early TV history. Something I would have never known if not for this show. So thank you very much for sharing this piece of history of something every body takes for granted daily.
