I have ridden on many of these trolleys is Seattle, and the motors ever so slightly started rumbling when coming to a stop over the years. The newer ones are way less loud, and those squeaky windows? Who will ever finally fix that problem? As I recall, even the new ones do that.
The intro was amazing, LONG LIVE THE GILLIG PHANTOM TROLLEYS
VERY POWERFUL AND SWIFT ACCELERATION WHEN PULLING AWAY FROM STOPS..... AMAZING!
Nice Video. Thanks for Filming Gillig Phantom Trolleys buses before they retire.
Dude I knew the vid would be awesome right when I saw the awesome intro :)
These got retired already? You'd think it would last atleast another 5-10 years since its a trackless trolley
The push to modernize their trolley fleet was a pretty big one, hence why they made a big deal about the New Flyers they just got.
The coaches are in good shape. But the motors were sounding rather ragged after 30 years.

Squeaky windows is a thing with any type of buses, new or old. That's what happens when they go through bumps, potholes and such.
They Retired them Last Year?
