Huntington West Virginia was my home at the time and I sang with the local chapter there. Life took me a new directions and I haven’t been an active barbershop in many years, however I have been a fan and so enjoy listening to many of the top performing quartets and chorus here on TH-cam. I’ve subscribed to your channel and anticipate enjoying your interviews. I see you have a two-part interview with the Bluegrass Student Union. Antidotal story here, my wife on our honeymoon in 1974 drove nonstop from Key West Florida back through Louisville in order to hear the Louisville thoroughbreds and those rotten kids in their 1974 Christmas show. Additionally, the student unions first out of district show performance was for our Huntington West Virginia chapter show the spring of 1974. It was a thrill for them to perform on the same card with the dealers choice. How lucky were we to have a past and future champions on our 1974 show. The union may not remember me, but I’m sure they remember performingwith the dealers choice. Keep up the good work. And blessings to all barbershop.
Hey, I might add I was the MC of the shows during my tenure with the Huntington chorus. I had a background and broadcasting and radio and TV. I was blessed to spend some time with both quartets and what a blast for a young man who thoroughly thrilled to be barbershoping.
