First time I listened to Primordial, and I heard your voice and your words, I was stunned by the depth of your art, and the emotions that come with it in the end. "There is no forgiveness here, just the longest and the darkest night...". You sir are an inspiration to me.

Imrama IS actually one of my favorite albums, probably the most Irish/Celtic sounding, I love the rawness and atmosphere of that album..

There's something that appeals to me about this interview being about the length of a normal Primordial song. Speaking of favorite albums or periods of the band, the 7 song period is easily my favorite. Cheers for the answers.

Imrama is a funny one for me. I had someone share a cassette of it way back in the day, and I recall I liked it, but like most dubbed cassettes... the quality was shite (Also I think they had listed the band as Prime Immortal or some such. Ah life before the internet....). Anyhow it was forgotten and when someone showed me To The Nameless Dead, I remember it took a couple tries to get into the vocal style.. but almost a year from then to realize it was the same band and that. I enjoy the early albums, but maybe because Nameless Dead really is when my own journey began, I feel that it and Redemption are the that really stand heads above the rest, and really love the almost oratory style Alan uses on the newer stuff. Regardless, definitely enjoy hearing the earlier stuff. Some day I'll get to Europe and catch a show I hope.

Talking about the fact of mid a later albums being much more popular, I can't really understand, why that happened. I've always been a fan of all Primordial.
