  • The Executive Council of the Democratic Labour Party has declared its confidence in General Secretary Steve Blackett and President Dr Ronnie Yearwood at a meeting this evening at its George Street headquarters.
Spokesman Walter Maloney said critical decisions were made but he declined to reveal full details.
He said the Council is dismayed by the unacceptable behaviour of some party members, citing last night’s developments where police had to be called in to investigate a reported break-in.

We govern by rules , not for the sake of the Rule/ constitution but for its purpose which is Justice. When rules do not produce Justice for all the the rule loses its value. We have become a docile society while trying to equate the docile rule following without justice as an esteemed moral characteristic. If this be the case then barbadian practice on never breaking the rule would have made us the greatest country in the world, therefore all 1st world countries we look to emulate must be beneath us for they break and change the rule sometimes even violently for the sake of what is above every rule , the thing called justice. Laws that do not provide justice for all are empty words written to keep the status quo .
