  • Scenic ride through the Talladega National Forest in Alabama, these are forest service roads 600-1 and 600-2. This is fun road for all type of 4wd's, it's perfect for new off-roaders and stockish 4wds. 600-2 has a section with a deep V notch in the middle of the road, that is great for flexing and taking those epic facebook wheeling pics, but there is enough room to bypass if you 4wd isn't capable. There is also a few places with established primitive camp sites. The Talladega National Forest offer several forest service roads and area to go off-roading, I use ‪@onXOffroad‬ to local these trails.
About half way into 600-1, my transmission went into limp mode and was stuck in 2nd gear. So, if any every has the following happen in their Jeep, I have the fix.
    - My 4wd indicator wouldn't turn off (after my last video at River Rock).
    - After using 4wd a couple times in this video, the 4wd light went out but wouldn't come back on.
    - My manual shift function on my auto transmission stopped working.
    - Check engine light came on, with a simple scanner showed NO fault codes and resetting the light didn't make it go away.
    - Transmission was stuck in 2nd gear, I tried shifting to Park, restarting the Jeep, disconnecting the battery, but it was always stuck in 2nd gear.
    - Pulled the codes when I managed to get home with better scanner and found a Powertrain code stored: U0414 "Invalid Data Received From Four-Wheel Drive Clutch Control Module"
    - A quick search on Google lead me to try the easiest/cheapest thing first. The transfer case switch. It was only $53 on amazon and while everyone on the internet saying it's a pain to change. I was able to change it in 15 mins and everything is back to normal.
FYI - The dealer charges $500 to $1000 to change this switch.
