How to fix the RPC server Unavailable Error (Windows 7)

Have you ever gotten the "RPC Server Unavailable" error/problem? Well its rare when it happens because it only happens when the booting properties were malfunction or changed.
To fix this problem you just need to to to "RUN" in your start button (Hold Window key+R). Then type in "msconfig." then, under general choose normal start up. And it should fix it after a shut down or restart.
Its a virus. RCP is a virus according to micro soft
I have been to every sites to fix this issue, took me long hours to find solution. Finally this 2 minutes video helps me fixed immediately. thank you thank you

You talked a little fast in the video but the instructions were simple and fixed my computer error so thank you a bunch. So much simpler then running thru a bunch ofwebsites with too much tech lingo

Nice Hector! this was the first thing that popped up when I had this issue. Unfortunately, I use the selective startup on my laptop so this fix didnt work for me. But it works for most people who dont customizes their boot services.

After that, you should be able to start the 'windows audio' service and be good to go. +Alberto Cheers brosef! You mentioning selective startup helped me realize how i screwed it up.
I have dual boot, so I started using Ubuntu instead of windows because of this error, i am about to reinstall windows, but you helped me to fix this, so I am very thank you♥️♥️♥️♥️

I was getting this very erro but only when trying to open mp3 or flacs in winamp. What worked for me was to delte this folder C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Winamp. Youllbe deleting al winamp configuratiosn and it should load with no problem at next launch as a fresh install.

if you can't run your computer, rapidly press F8 while starting up your computer and select "Safe Mode With Networking.".

I have a little different problem, when I turn on computer, I can't even pass the user screen, as it drops the message "the RPC server is unavailable", and shuts down. :[
check windows audio service under "services". you search "services" in start menu.

If you can't use this fix because you use selective startup, you need to start the 'power' service. This works only if you can log in. My case is different. The rpc pops up on the login screen where I can't even input the password. What do I do in this scenario???

I can't even pass the login since that "RPC-server is unavailable". I tried to start the computer with "safe mode and network on" or something like that but I still got the same error when I tried to login. Would greatly appreciate some help.
i was just about to spend a lot of bucks but now i don't have to ur my lord :)
The Error could be solved to, if you start the msconfig-> Services -> activate all
then make the microsoft Services and deselect the Services you don't need -> reboot and maybe the error was fixed at my computer (sry for my bad English)
