Friends always comforts me because I grew up watching it and it reminds me of carefree times. Sounds weird but it makes me feel safe. The showering and cleaning also definitely helps.

@RawBeautyKristi I have been a subscriber for about a year and a half now and am going back through your old videos and came across this one!I am 29 and I have been struggling with infertility for about 9 years now, I have had 7 pregnancies, 1 we made it to 23 weeks and sadly went into early labor and laid him to rest 2 days before christmas this past year (2016) . I also have PCOS (the DEVIL) and I just wanted to say how inspired I feel right now listening to you talk about living a childless life! I do have a 7 year old stepson who is my WHOLE world, but my husband and I are to the point where we are going back and forth with stopping all fertility treatments. I just wanted to send a big thank you for this video, it means so much to hear someone who has done everything in their power to have a baby say it is what it is once you have decided to stop and live! Thanks again!!!

You make me feel so much better about everything I've got going on. It's easier to know that I'm not the only one struggling in a world where everyone acts as though they've got their lives together. Thank you for being you and for continuously putting a smile on so many faces.

Hey, thank YOU for always being SO sweet and commenting the nicest things. ♥ I always hate watching other TH-camrs and seeing their perfect lives and feeling inadequate - then you turn around and see the mess behind them. Things are NOT always what they seem - i like to keep that in perspective. ♥

I agree on the kid issue. I still wonder if I want them, but then there are times when I sit and face reality that not everyone is meant to have kids. Not everyone needs to WANT kids, and no one should ever try to make/shame someone else for not wanting kids. It's just not a universal desire, and anyone who thinks it is or it should be, frankly, is really rude, close-minded and self-centered. I still remember right after my sister in law and my brother had their twins, she said to me, "God, you're so lucky. You get to just pack up and go on vacation for two weeks whenever you want." She said that the night before my hubby and I were leaving to Chicago for Christmas and New Years just b/c we wanted to. And we could because we don't have kids.
Don't get me wrong. Kids are great. I love kids. I just don't know if I'm that person who wants only to dedicate the only life I have to someone else who, at 18, is going to leave and start their own life while still relying on me to always put them first. I know it sounds selfish, but really, why is it selfish to want to enjoy your life your way, and not the way society says you should?

I know what you mean about the TV show thing. When I was dealing with a parent's illness, Breaking Bad was my constant (depressing show, I know, but it pulled me away from my own nightmare). Watching it let me be at peace because it was there when things were bad, and it was there when things were good. Cleaning definitely helps relieve stress too, as long as you don't get overwhelmed and give up before the job is done.
My question for next time is what was your septum piercing experience like? I'm thinking of getting one and I'm wondering if you could talk about some pros and cons!

  • @SherbertLime
    @SherbertLime 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Yes! A Clean house is a BIG TIME stress reliever. After cleaning I love taking a long hot shower. It's almost like I'm cleaning to the core and I make sure I use things which smell very comfy and satisfying. For me this is usually sugar, brown sugar, honey, or vanilla smells. I know others like other smells but that's definitely what I do. I also love to sit in the fluffiest and most comfy thing I own and chill out drinking something soothing and have my son curl up in my lap. Best time ever.
This may sound crazy but my son's hugs instantly make me feel better. He does big ol' bear hugs and holds them for at least two minutes. (Haha). (He's almost 2).

Dear Kristi, first off let me express to you how much I love your channel! I've been watching you forever and you are so honest and real which is a true rarity in today's technological era. My question for you is how "well" do you manage your PCOS? In the sense of emotionally. I was diagnosed at 19, I'm now 27 and married. It's a daily struggle for me with the whole fertility issue. Some days I forget all about it and other days it's all I think about. The shitty part is I won't know if I'm able to have babies until I actually try to conceive, which we are not as of late. I've read many books and have read many online articles and forums on the subject, however none of them feel "real" to me. It's always the typical bullshit of "You too can have a functional full-filling life with PCOS". Same shit, different story... How do you handle the shitty emotional roller coaster of pcos on a daily basis? Thanks

I LOVE honesty and the no nonsense answers.
Other youtubers are funny about showing their bras on camera and here you are talking openly about sex drive. I love that. Stay real and just be you.
It's great and so helpful for all age groups but especially teens cos as I teen I constantly felt like everything was sugar coated and worded so carefully before it was said to me. I wish I had someone as raw as you to talk to growing up :)
    You're awesome

    • @RawBeautyKristi

Wow, not gonna lie - this is probably the best comment i have ever gotten. It means so much to me to know that it is helpful hearing honest answers - i am like this in person and some people tell me i am too honest and it comes off "TMI" - i just think its important to stop sugarcoating things and be real - because i was SO SO SO super self conscious as a kid and if i had someone sit here and be honest with me, i think i would have been better off. Thank you SO much for commenting and letting me know! :D this is going to be a FUN series!!

Omg girl i know what u mean about cleaning/being clean when ur stressed out. Even if my room is a huge mess and I'm stressed i wont sleep well.
Things that work for me: hot bath, using good smelling soap, putting lotion on my skin, drinking tea, clean room, fuzzy socks and a good movie/ show ( it makes me feel happier)... Now I'm gona get back to the rest if the video!

Great to hear that you have PCOS, I do too. I felt like I was the only person in the world that had it, I'm actually very embarrassed by it so to hear that you're very open to putting it out there and saying you have it makes me feel a hole ton better, not very many beauty gurus share things like that, so thank you for being so open c: just subscribed to you today and already had a marathon of your videos. I can already tell you're gonna be a favorite c:

*hugs* to you on the infertility -- I get you, especially when it comes to passing on health stuff (I have a painful health condition of my own). Part of why we didn't do treatments (and went directly to adoption) was not wanting to pass those genes on. There were other reasons (religious, the fact that I hate needles, the fact that I didn't want to raise an infant, and others as well) but that was a huge part of it for us.

Hey girl I had horrible hormone imbalances too. Not necessarily PCOS but I had ovarian cysts and endometriosis as well as three miscarriages. I had estrogen dominance from taking birth control for two years. I pretty much did a self diagnosis and started taking Vitex and progesterone cream to balance myself out. So far, really, really good. I don't have the same symptoms as before (including low/no sex drive) and I'm pregnant, further in weeks than I ever have before. I really hope this might help you. I love your channel and how real you are! Good luck with everything :)

I love how confident you are and how you carry yourself which leads me to my question. I know you joke about your body from to time and chinsti but to me you seem very confident about your body. I was wondering how you deal with the day to day struggle of loving your body and how you look? My bf is coming down to see me this summer (long distant relationship) and im finding it difficult to want to wear shorts or a bathing suit around him. Im personally a size 12. pls help.

I only just found your channel like last week - I know this video is a few months old, but I HAD to comment!...I love this video - especially all of the advice for a youtuber starting out (I only have like 120 subs right now...) but I like the advice and hope to learn from it! But I also wanted to say...about the last thing you discussed - wanting to be a mom. We are in year 5 now with 4 failed IVF's (and VERY EFFING EXPENSIVE failed IVF's) plus 1 m/c...we are going in for another this year with a different process. Either way...I know the pain. it sucks. I am that pain. That is my life right now. I'm almost sort of jealous of women who can come to terms with not having a baby. I'm not there yet and I pray I never have to be....because (as I'm sure you understand) it's all I live for. At least at this point in my life it is...some days are better than others...and honestly, starting my own channel is one way I'm coping with NOT having a baby right now because it lets me share things with people and connect with others without being in the "mommy groups" that most women my age are! Anyways. I love your channel and I wish you all the best!! :D

I know this is a year old and everything, but I wanted to say this.
I thought I had PCOS for years and I also thought I was a-sexual. My GP didn't know enough about it to say if it was in fact PCOS. So when I got Obamacare last year, I went to an actual gynecologist and he told me that I didn't have PCOS (even though some of my symptoms were similar) but I did have a hormonal imbalance. He put me on some new hormones (basically estrogen) and BOOM, my sex drive was up and running.
I'm not saying this is the same thing, you may very well have a confirmed diagnosis, but if you haven't consulted a gynecologist, it might be worth it. Especially since he found pre-cancerous cells at the same time.

Girl, I hear you on the "no kids" shindig. Don't get me wrong, I love children, but I'm just not ready to have kids yet. I'm 22, and most of my classmates have a kid or is going to have one, whatever and I'm just like why? Like damn! Fuck, you guys can wait. I mean, we are still young so we have plenty of time to have kids. Personally, I feel that I'm not mentally fit to have a child. I have mental health issues that I need to sort out. Plus, I feel that I'm not mature enough to have a kid. Meaning, sometimes, I act childish. Meh :/

Awesome. I totally wasn't understanding the whole idea of these videos when you were describing them, but i loved this and cant wait for the next one! So i also have pcos, and i feel like it has plagued so many parts of my life. One of the shittier symptoms for me has been my hair thinning drastically. I remember you talking about you experiencing similar problems awhile back and i was wondering if it's something you're still dealing with. If so, do you have any tips on how to deal with it? Thanks! You're the best! Hashtag hashtag hashtag #rawadvice ;)

That was such a great video! I absolutely loved it! I can relate on so many things!
I like what you've said about clean house! So true! Best destresser! although I am all into long brisk walks.
I feel you about sex drive, I have smth wrong with my hormones so, have been there. And I understand about not being able to get pregnant. I was absolutely ok with having no kids till my first lost pregnancy. After that I wanted just to start over asap and do everything properly. And now I have 2 yo son and I want him to have siblings so much. But it is not happening yet.
So, anyway, great video. Subbed, and will go watch more of you. Btw, I came from Marie bits&clips channel and I am so grateful for you being a good friend for her. It sounds cheese, doesn't it? )))

I understand your worry about feeling guilty over passing shitty Gene's to kids. I have 2 kids, 16 months apart. My oldest turns 2 this month. We recently found out my family Carrie's the BRCA 2 gene mutation, known as the cancer gene. We found this out while doing a genetic breakdown of my 8yr old nephews brain cancer. We recently lost our home during some fires in CA so while getting life situated were trying to figure out getting the kids tested and I feel so guilty. I also am against having any more children because even if that baby ended up not having the mutation, I'd feel incredibly guilty knowing I took that risk.

I remember you mentioning you were on the Keto diet last year. I have PCOS, and I've heard really good things about it. What are your thoughts about being Ketogenic?

Hi Kristi! So I need advice about my sister who is much younger than me, I'm 26, she just turned 12 years old and like most kids her age she tries to be very active on social media. The problem is for most of her life she's always been social and outgoing (which is a good thing) but at the same time this kid does not have a filter. She says whatever comes to mind and for the most part does not realize if someone might be sensitive to it until afterwards. I'm all about letting kids be kids but I would also like her to be considerate of other's feelings. Her mouth gets her in trouble but not only that, she's always craved attention, any attention good or bad, and it gets her into trouble with people at her school. She's been bullied by different girls, they tell her she's ugly, nobody likes her, she's annoying, one girl was going off on her because my sister said two words to this girl's boyfriend, and another went off because she said my sister stole her style? What the fuck? Like seriously stupid shit. Anyway I don't have experience with this kind of girl drama b/c for the most part I just always kept to myself in school and although she's dealing with it and puts on a brave front i wonder how it's really affecting her. it hurts me that people would say these things about her but it seems like the only thing worse for her than getting bad attention is getting no attention. I've tried talking to her as often as I can to try to get her to tone it down a little but it seems like she will listen for 2 seconds and then do whatever she wants anyway. How do I guide her to make better decisions and stop messing with these kind of people?

Oh god, why haven't I found you sooner. Seriously need more of you on youtube. #rawadvice What do you use the baby powder in the background for? Another question I have is do you ever get annoyed by how people just lose weight and find motivation and stick to it, and it just doesn't seem to be happening to you. I know you've touched on not having motivation before, and damnit it sucks when you don't. Have any facebook groups you follow or something?

I have a question.. I don't know if this is too late or not? but anyway, (hopefully not)
I need help telling my family im Bisexual, since im Christian, my mum doesn't exactly dislike gays, bi's, ect. but she doesn't exactly support them either, and I am indeed very young. so I know if I tell her, she will be all like "no, you're too young to understand" and she is probably right, but I don't plan on marrying a female, I just wanna have the feeling, of being with one. how is a simple, but good way to tell them?

You are so funny, so cool, so talented, so beautiful, so HONEST AND REAL.
I feel like we have a lot in common (without being creepy, ha!)
I have a lot of the same relationship-issues as you, I found that me and my husband are such good friends that it's hard to be "lovers" also. We should be working on it ... but honestly, we are busy and tired and also have a needy cat, and there are a lot of excuses. I find tho, that when I am shaved and in shape and taking care of myself, (or when im drunk or on vacation in new surroundings, ha!) I feel more sexy. I have gained 25 kilos over the last couple of years because of a depression, and I feel like shit, not in the mood for loving! Poor husband with all my mood swings, haha!
I hope you will find a middle ground that is strong enough to carry your relationsship, wish you all the best - and know that you are not alone on struggling in some aspects and periods of life - and I totally agree that Friends can make any shit day great. ^_^ Thank you Kristi!

I love how honest you are about your sex life, I honestly don't think how often you have sex is a measure of the relationship. If you both know you are one anothers one and only and you are happy who cares if you have sex several times a day or hardly ever.

Got a messy situation. I have a group of friends from high school. One recently started dating a girl. This girl is straight up horrible. Toxic as hell. Mean. Shallow. Petty. Hateful. Rude. Spiteful. Always pissed off. Starts fights with everyone for no reason. Our other friends want me to break him and his girlfriend up. I am staying out of the mess. I hate seeing him miserable, but anything I say will only reinforce his desire to be with her. It's not my business. It's gotten to the point of my distancing myself. I don't want to be around them. Not so much the guys, it's the girlfriend. She purposely picks fights with me. She spreads lies. Tried to get my man. That was rather funny. Anyway, how should I deal with this? Avoiding my friends isn't the answer, but I can't be around this woman. I have tried speaking to her. Calling her on her crap. Does zero good. Help. I feel it's not my place to say anything. But this is out of hand. She went as far as saying that my man raped her. That's a flat out lie. When the alleged incident happened, my man was out of town. With his parents. I was with them, so there's no way. How do I deal with her without having to beat a bitch's ass? I would prefer not to go Rodney King on this tramp.

Kristi I have two questions. I also have PCOS and have been told by multiple doctor's that I probably won't be able to have kids. I'm only 19 so at the moment it hasn't affected me much, but my first question is have you ever thought about adopting or do you think it would just be too much because of all of the criteria you have to meet? My second question is do you have advice for a big girl that is trying to date. I feel like no one takes me seriously or wants a real relationship with me, they just look at it like they're doing me a favor because I'm "fat and gross" and no one would want to date me. I know I'm lovely, how do I make everyone else see that? I love your videos, you are so inspiring to me! #rawadvice

I also struggle with PCOS and I also have a thyroid condition. I've also been told that I will never be able to conceive which is really devastating to me. I'm 25 and I already have one failed marriage because he couldn't handle it. I completely know how you feel.

    • @pcoswhatamess3935
      @pcoswhatamess3935 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Having PCOS doesn't mean you will not be able to have a baby. There are different levels of severity of PCOS. Some people can exercise and eat healthy and get pregnant with PCOS. Others simply take an oral fertility drug and get pregnant. I myself have a lean form of PCOS. My weight is not contributing to my condition. I simply have inherited an insulin resistance problem. I have one child conceived through IVF. Long answer short PCOS does not mean you will not be able to have children; you will have to work harder to have children. And it may require something more extreme like IVF.
