Hi Matt, im checking out some of your other videos now, great work again, what is that Mixing board on your desk? is it all for Audio devices? or Video , thanks....
It’s the Rodecaster Duo, which is an awesome audio mixer and interface. You can hear a big difference in the Tank 3 from regular USB mode to when it goes through the Duo. It’s a bit expensive and totally not a requirement, but can be a useful tool.
@@mattliller thankyou, inspired, I have started building my setup, I have 2 37in Softboxes (hex) with grid with Bowens, and one 135wat cob 135bi color, appreciate sharing your experience with Video setup more available. I have looked into many mic setups, have you tested the Tekstar sgc-600, its so inexpensive and seem to be really good, it would be interesting how they compare to other higher end mics. Thank you once again for taking the time to answer some questions...
@@stevenraz8756 The blurry background is determined by (1) factors he aperture of the lens in combination with (2) how far you are away from the background. Using a higher “F stop” on the lens keeps the background more in focus.
The K688 is more on the lows and mids compared to this Tank3, if you will use a dynamic mic mainly for your guitar, then between these two, the K688 could be slightly better at smoothing your guitar sound instead of making it even harsher.
@@FIFINE Wow, thanks for responding! It's not common for companies to answer questions like this on other people's TH-cam comments... Really cool of you! Neither of the mics are currently available in my country (South Africa), tho I have seen them being sold here before so I'll definitely pick up the K688 if I ever see it here again... It looks professional enough to be used in podcast productions yet not so much that it can't be used for a gaming channel. Also, from what I can tell based on a ton of reviews I've watched, it sounds really good, even compared to the SM7B or Podcaster mic, and everyone that's used it loves it!
Does NOT come with a stand, it only comes with the mic and a USB cable. The good news is that the mic is threaded with both common stand sizes, so you shouldn’t need an adapter no matter what stand you get.

@@stevenraz8756 My pleasure! I’m not familiar with that mic, but I do enjoy a good comparison. Great job getting your setup going.
@@mattliller one piece at a time, i know i need a key and fill like, how do you prevent background from becoming too blurry?

Quick and practical review! glad to know that you love the mic!
Great review .. new subscriber
Much appreciated!
Subbed because I want you to make more content like this! What do you think of the K688?
Thanks so much! I’ve not used the K688, but maybe that will be a future video…

Does it come with a stand ? Or must you already have a arm to attach it to

Sorry it doesn't come with one, you have to buy one.
