Weighing in at just a smidge over 13 oz, this cook system isn't the lightest in the Jet Boil lineup (the Stash holds that title), but it can boil 1/2L in 100 seconds, which, in my book, is remarkably fast.
The Flash features a push-button igniter and a thermochromatic color-changing heat indicator incorporated into the exterior neoprene sleeve, turning orange when the water boils. The 1-liter capacity pot is large enough to fill the two mugs my husband and I use for our hot drinks. It easily boils enough water for a couple of dehydrated meals. We primarily purchased the Jet Boil Flash for car camping or self-supported kayak trips, but we may well bring it on our next raft trip as we're considering bringing only dehydrated meals.
The bottom plastic cup serves as both a measuring cup and a bowl, and the pot itself has a 1/2L marking inside to eliminate the need for measuring most of the time.
