Ya it would, right after knocking and pinning down a dog, breaking its back. Cats have explosive short bursts of speed. I watched a lioness that was surrounded by many more dogs, charge and pounce on one. That one dog was lucky he had a bunch of friends. He ended up limping away. Lions are very powerful.

If several dogs bite at once the lion may turn around and then other dogs will come in from behind, but the dogs are smart enough to know that one swipe could be the end of them.
